I believe that Derrick Williams has more promise than Thompson coming into this year. I think he has more ability to work with than Thompson.

Anyway, I think if one of these players would become a good player in the NBA it would be Williams, and I think Williams will keep improving this year. Williams does have the potential to become a dynamic offensive player, whether that will happen is unknown to me. I wont discuss defense, because Thompson has him there.

Being the #2 pick isn't why I'm saying all this. I'm not saying anything about Thompson's offense either, but what I am saying is that Williams has the potential to be a good to very good offensive player. He has the natural abilities, he just needs to work on them, like outside shooting and driving in. He can definately do those things, just not consistently.

Completely negating that Thompson is likely already a better rebounder and defender?, lol. If you look at offense I'm really not sure what skills Williams can supposedly develop that Thompson wouldn't also be able to develop. They're not the same kind of player and Williams will likely develop a perimiter game with Thompson developing inside, but I don't see any reason to believe Williams will simply develop more overall.

Why wouldn't Williams develop more overall? He's more dimensional than Tristan who isn't much of a threat outside of the paint. Wiliams has the ability to make outside shots, mid range shots and drive. So why would I not believe that he will be a better and more complete offensive player? I really dont think that you can argue that.

Unless Thompson can hit shots out of the paint, he's not going to be a good offensive player. Unless you're a big bruising center, you can't have a good offensive game by living inside.

He's a free agent and is looking for a bigger deal than what the Cavs are looking to offer. He was more of a BScott guy anyway. Im guessing we kick the tires and maybe there's a chance he's back, but both sides will probably have to budge quite a bit.

I'm not even sure Williams will develop, only because he has to play behind a all star power forward.

I really like bogut so id be pretty happy to do that. Hes an expiring so it doesnt hurt too much. If injuries continue to be a concern then dont resign him or sign him for cheap.
