Both Marion and Vince are expiring. So the Magic could trade for either of them and then simply waive them if they don't want them and it wouldn't hurt next offseason capspace. I'd love to get Larkin from them too, but I doubt they will want to trade him. So there is definitely options there.

Tim MacMahon @espn_macmahon
Mavs' early competition for Brandan Wright: Hawks, Magic, Pistons, Raptors, and Knicks http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/maverick ... 50/4696650

Isn't Wright a PF? Sooo... Davis/Harris/Nicholson/Osby....hmmm. Someone won't be here come end of July. Maybe Nicholson to Clipps was legit rumor?

Mark Heisler @MarkHeisler
This just in: Source tells me #Clipeprs no longer targeting Afflalo but Tony Allen, whom Doc coached w/ #Celtics

Welp....

As we know from first hand experience, Doc making roster decisions is no bueno. Doc: "Hey, let's get a SG that can't shoot so the defense can pack the paint on us."

oh joy a 6 foot 9/10 210 pound pf/c with good athleticism and a good and efficient on the offense but sucks on rebounding and low post defense. i would say playing him at PF is much better than C.

I believe Wright played backup C mostly with Dallas. Henny might be tired of using PFs to play backup C for us.

Highly doubt we go after him honestly I know we could use a legit backup center but Brandon Wright isn't ideal for that his skill set we already have on the team honestly.

idk about that. his athletic abilities as a PF are much better than any traditional pf we have on the roster. coming out of the draft was said to be as fast as a Guard as well as his Leaping ability. i dont see one of those kind of athletic bigs on our roster. not saying we need him but he offers a different skill skit. i bet he would do pretty decent as a Backside shotblocker but he isnt likely to get bigger and still needs work on his low post defense cuz of his lack of mass.

Maybe Henny is trying to make Nicholson expendable by acquiring more "young" guys at that spot?

Good to see some action. This is a bit of a head scratcher though. Someone who lets you play smaller for stretches isn't the worst idea ever, if he is a center then maybe so.

Not surprised. Although I don't think Brandan can still improve. But it makes sense, IMO. He has long arms and shot blocking skills, a perfect compliment for Vuc.

Length is the name of the game for Henni and I think you could see that on every "assets" he acquires.

Low risk pick up imo. Like you said, makes sense considering we struggle to protect the rim.

I believe his agent is Dan Fegan, who is supposedly close with Mark Cuban.

Apparently the Pelicans are going to make an offer sheet to Tyreke Evans. According to this website, this is how they could get it done:

Using numbers from ShamSports.com, the Pelicans have $61,356,465 in salary counting against the cap, which is expected to be set at $58.5 million. But they can reduce their salary commitments to $47,121,716 by renouncing free agents Al-Farouq Aminu ($3,749,602 of additional cap space), Xavier Henry ($3,201,370), Louis Amundson ($884,293) and Roger Mason ($884,293) and waiving players with partially unguaranteed contracts Robin Lopez ($4,619,761), Lance Thomas ($884,293), Darius Miller ($788,872), Brian Roberts ( $788,872) and Terrel Harris ( $884,293). However, if the Kings drop more than four of those players from their books, a cap hold of $490,180 (equal to the minimum salary) would be subtracted from their cap space for each additional player renounced or waived.

The second rumor is that they are also going after Iggy. For them to do that, theyd have to get rid of Eric Gordon. I want nothing to do with Gordon and his injury and whining history. But I bet we would be the perfect team that could coordinate a three way trade that results in the Pelicans getting no salary back, thereby opening cap room for them to sign Iggy.
