Translation:

He couldn't wait to get out of "hell" from his point of view and as he put it can't wait to come to the "storied franchise". This move is going to be another under the radar classic killer like Grunnie has shown us in the past. Bargs is going to give us his best....

This reach is big enough to circle the Earth.

In contrast to past moves where we'd be a lottery team and bank on aquired players to make great strides or get back to levels they displayed 5 years prior to their acquisition we took a calculated risk here. We ARE a 55 win team already and Bargnani is 27 years old and played at a strong level in each of his past 5 seasons except the last one. It's not like Grunwald has taken some HUGE immeasurable risk with no chance of paying off....think about it , if Bargs manages to play decent post defense (which even Toronto fans and journalists say he'd been doing) and provides 16points/5rebounds on offense we'll all be celebrating the trade. Does that sound like some huge reach or unrealistic goal?

The amount of jumpshots will increase and team rebounding will decrease. I fail to see how any of that is a good thing for a team that lives and dies by its jumpshots.

That's pretty funny. I'm pretty envious of their joy.

Well, if it makes you feel any better they think Novak is an expiring and the pick has no restrictions...

Nah they knew that Novak wasn't an expiring. They firstly mentioned that he was traded for expirings as a way to mock how his trade value should have been worth expirings as a best case scenario. Re-watch the vid. They did however, not mention the rights for DEN to swap picks.

I've found this on another board (thanks DIESEL).

Probably the most accurate article I've read in these days.

Well I'm laughing at them. Because in the first 10 seconds of the video, they said they traded Bargnani for a couple of expiring deals which is not the case.

Edit: I'm now 3 minutes into the video. Don't know how much more I can take. These guys are UNBEARABLE.
Edit #2: They have no idea about the Knicks/Nuggs pick swap in 2016. Are all Toronto radio/TV guys this stupid or is it just these two?

We are talking about a franchise that at one point had a prime Chauncy Billups, Marcus Camby, Doug Christie and Tracy McGrady. They barely played or misused three out of the four. They have been one of the worst evaluators of talent in the NBA.

I think Bargnani will play better defense with our switch schemes and he will return to form offensively as long as he is given a chance. The culture is so different with our franchise that it will be an easy transition.

theyre horrified....its basically a defense mechanism....its well known that bargs loves the knicks....his best games and showing always came against the knicks and other elite squads....he'll soon become a fan favorite here.mark my words.......g.g. stole bargs.

We are far from horrified.

The truth is that Bargnani is a terrible player and we are glad to be rid of him.

There is zero chance Bargnani becomes a fan favourite in NYC because he is incapable of rebounding the ball.

I am not trying to troll however if I was a NYK fan I would be furious.

NY fans do not cheer for rebounds.

NY fans cheer for passion.

NY fans cheer for effort.

NY fans cheer for fortitude.

Been to quite a few basketball games. Dont recall many fan chants for individual rebounds...

There are reports out of Toronto that the Knicks are also sending enough cash in the trade to pay Q-Rich's salary. therefore, GG has already given up 1.4 mill out of our newly replenished 3 mil allotment and we have no picks next summer.

This isnt a bad deal. We move dead weight to fill a need. Bargs is not a great player. But two bench players who dont play for a starter is a good deal. The picks are meaningless. We are a playoff team. The tim hardaway jrs of the world are not impacting enough to make us better. I think its a good pickup. My only complaint about the picks is we cannot sweeten another deal. We get a solid player to fill a need but hes not cut from the cloth of the type of player we need to take us further.

Good breakdown. The truth is, for me at least, I was surprised the picks were enough to sweeten this deal.

We don't really have any other assets to trade outside of this package, and I honestly don't think Novak, Camby, and a 1st could have gotten anything better.

Exactly my point rebounding is the area of basketball that can impacted by a players passion and effort. Bargnani is one of the worst rebounding bigs ever. He rarely shows passion or emotion on the court.

I honestly hope he plays better for the Knicks then the Raptors. For the past three years I told my buddies that the day Bargnani was traded I was going to get some champagne to celebrate. It's chilling in my fridge right now.

I am honestly not trying to troll but there is a reason raptor fans are celebrating. If barge becomes a fan favourite in nYC I will be shocked.

It's hard to evaluate players coming from Toronto. Let's be real it's kinda been a career wasteland. In our darker days we were as well.

The city itself obviously has a lot to offer and so does Canada in general, not hating.

Not at all true. All of the easy stereotypes about Toronto are bunk:
Higher taxes -> Not true as long as you work the various tax systems appropriately
Less exposure -> Oh yeah, VC was waaaay under-exposed when he played here
Who wants to play in a hick, back-water like Canada? -> Toronto is a bigger, more cosmopolitan city than the *vast* majority of American NBA cities. We're not NY, LA, or Chicago, but outside of those we *dwarf* pretty much every other town. We're even a million people bigger than Boston, though I'd never try to claim it should hold more sway with players than the home of the Celtics.

The true problem (outside of those first initial years where players truly did have some crazy paranoia about coming to Canada) is that we just, simply, have not been good enough, often enough to attract good players. Trust me, if we ever get good, "White Vegas" (google it) will have no trouble attracting players. "If we ever get good" is, unfortunately, the operative phrase there. Hopefully we're on the right track now.

Don't think Toronto the city itself or Canada has anything to do with it. It's the environment. They've pretty much been a poorly run org since day one. We are a dysfunctional org so as a Knick fan I am not one to talk.
