First of all, Aldridge has never come close to averaging 10 rebounds, last year's 9.1 was his career high.
He averages 7.9 reb/36 for his career, Noah 11.4 per 36.
Blocked shots per 36: Aldridge 1.0, Noah 1.8
Assists per 36: Aldridge 1.9, Noah 2.7
Steals per 36: Aldridge 0.8, Noah 1.0
Aldridge scores 21 a game because he takes 17-18 shots a game. Noah might only give us 12 pts/game, but he does it on only 10 shots.
If you want to see Noah score like Aldridge, all he has to do is start shooting an extra 6 jumpers a game. That'll take his scoring average up to Aldridge's, and lower his TS% down to Aldridge's.
That would come real close to evening things out. Yes, Aldridge would have a slightly higher TS%, but since Noah beats him in every other statistical category, I'll live with it.
TS%1: .539, .594, .557, .579, .561, .534
TS%2: .523, .529, .535, .549, .560, .530
PER1: 15.5, 16.5, 17.9, 18.8, 19.6, 18.1
PER2: 18.5, 19.1, 18.2, 21.5, 22.7, 20.4
Yes, 1 is Noah and 2 is Aldridge.
Yes, Noah has posted a better TS% than Aldridge each and every year of his career. So have him shoot 5 or 6 more jumpers every night, their TS% will even out, and he'll average the 20 everyone so loves Aldridge for averaging.
Noah's OffReb%, DefReb% and TotalReb% are better than Aldridge's 6 of 6 years.
Noah's Blk% is higher than Aldridge's 6 of 6 years.
Noah Ast% is better than Aldridge's each of the last 4 years.
Noah's OffRtg has been higher 4 of 6 years.
How does a guy with a lower TS%, lower Reb% across the board, lower Ast%, lower Blk%, lower OffRtg have a higher PER every year?
Yes, that right there tells you how useless PER is.
Again, the only reason anyone wants Aldridge over Noah is his (allegedly) superior offense.
Well look at the actual numbers, their offense is, in reality, pretty damned close to even.
Noah is our emotional leader and the leader of our defense.
Aldridge is owed $30.4 million over the next 2 years.
Jo Noah is owed $36.7 million over the next 3 years.
Noah's offensive game might not be as pretty as Aldridge's, but it is certainly more efficient.
Now that I've actually compared the numbers in-depth, I'm even more against trading Noah for Aldridge. Thankfully, I have enough faith in our front office that I know there is no way in hell that trade will ever happen.
LMA is a legit #2. Noah is a high energy role-player. Stats don't negate this fact.
