... and Biedrins and Jefferson if Howard wanted Golden State?
That's being kicked around.
Personally, I'd say yes. I've been infatuated with Bogut's game for years. IF HE'S HEALTHY, we'd have a great defensive Center and a really promising SF.
Bogut / Horford / Barnes - that's a major league frontline.
Friday can't come soon enough. It appears that either Howard will choose us, or he'll choose HOU - in which case we're best positioned to give them Josh Smith - or he'll choose GS - in which case we're the only team that can give them the salary relief they would need.
Or he could choose LA, but let's not talk about that.

Would you take Bogut and Barnes...
My mother told me, she said, "Elwood, to make it in this world you either have to be oh, so clever or oh, so pleasant." Well, for years I was clever; I recommend pleasant.

Another question: would GS be looking into this unless Howard had given them strong reason to believe they could sign him?

Jefferson and Biedrins are the cost of getting Bogut and Barnes. The Warriors want someone to take all that salary and not send contracts back.

None of them are long term deals, so I'd strongly consider it.

Not sure they would want to trade Barnes, and that would also mean they can't re-sign Jack and Landry. Maybe too much to lose just to get Howard.
If they do a sign-&-trade of Howard, they could keep their F.A.s and don't need to trade all these $37M for 4 players.
I need to check, but there could be a possibility to make a three-way trade with GSW and LAK :
GSW would get Howard in sign-&-trade, and filler if needed (including ATL F.A.)
LAK what they would want (players have to be under contract since they are above the apron)
ATL would get Bogut and filler, and it could include sign-&-trade of Jack or Landry or any F.A. of LAK

Jefferson and Biedrins are on expiring contracts, correct? If so, I think I'd take this deal. If we miss on Howard, I don't really feel there are any other free agents worth getting too excited about this year. I'd much rather acquire Bogut and Barnes in that scenario. And with Jefferson and Biedrins coming off the books next year (and possibly Bogut, if he doesn't work out), then we have plenty of money to make a splash in free agency next year. And I agree with parson, I'm very intrigued by a Bogut/Horford/Barnes front court.

Re: Would you take Bogut and Barnes...
But we can't acquire these four guys making $37M next season, we don't have enough room (maximum of 28M$, and that's if we let Teague walk).
Jefferson, or at least Biedrins would have to go to another team.
If GSW want to sign Howard with cap room, they need to clear at least :
70.5 - 33.5 = 37M
They would have 10 players under contract, so 37 + 1M for two incomplete roster charges = 38
They would have 20.5M of cap room to make a Max offer to Howard
If they can get him in sign-&-trade, it's different story with lots of possibilities.

Re: Would you take Bogut and Barnes...
What about trading Stevenson (our worst deal) for Bogut, Jefferson, Bendris, Fetus Ezell, and Draymond Green and their 2014 pick?
It sounds really one sided for us, but we would basically be taking on 3 contracts they don't want and need to get something of value for doing it.

^ If you'll go to the GS board, I think you'd see a lot of people who'd jump at your deal.

We should be getting Barnes if he is on the table and we are taking on all their salary.

Re: Would you take Bogut and Barnes...
Looks like GSW sent Biedrins and Jefferson to Utah to clear money for Iggy, and are now out of the Dwight sweepstakes. Bummer... I was hoping to come out with Bogut and Barnes/Thompson.

Re: Would you take Bogut and Barnes...
Sounds like if GSW ships out Barnes and Bogut, they have a shot at Dwight still. I would do that deal if Dwight is for sure not coming here.
