In four years starting and all of the minutes he got, Brandon still rarely passes when he gets in the paint. To me, it's one of his biggest flaws, especially given he's such a poor finisher around the rim.
He'll blow pass his defender while almost always going left, get into the paint, draw a help defender or two, and the vast majority of times, put up a a floater or bricked layup, regardless that often enough teammates were open as help defenders left their guy to collapse on Jennings. For all of the flaws Monta had, his vision as passer off dribble penetration was much better.

I just got back inside from shooting Sikma 3's in the dark, with fantasy assists from Johnny Cocaine Lucas, via Paul Mokeski. Just poured another Captain & Coke. Continue on ...

If I knew for a fact that we were going to sign / acquire a 3 and D small forward I would almost be ok with bringing Monta back to play PG. Monta is better at the drive and dish than both Teague and Jennings put together. If he had 3 other shooters on the floor with him, that team would actually make sense, provided Larry Drew could convince him to stop shooting mid range jumpers off the dribble.
However I fully expect us to extend BJ.
