What makes you say that?

And it wouldn't be a message board without having the guy who criticizes everyone's opinion in one fell swoop as if the message board is of one collected minded person and not dozens of fans with an opinion.
And I don't know if that was a swipe at me, but I did say I have seen enough of Dipo at PG. He isn't an NBA PG. Is that so outrageous? PG's who play the position and look phenomenal through their whole high school and college careers don't make it at PG in the NBA. Just because we want to experiment with him at PG and he has moments of PG competence doesn't mean he projects well as a good NBA PG.

I don't know.... I kind of do think it's a little outrageous to say what Oladipo is and isn't at this point.
But let me ask you this... What holds him back? In the beginning there were a ton of people who said he couldn't do it because he doesn't have the handle. Many of those same people said he couldn't shoot. My take was that there was a huge learning curve for him in the mental aspect of the game more than anything else. I think that could come in time. Do I think he will ever be our full time PG? No, but I do think he can play PG. What holds you back?

Wait, so you can say that you don't think he will be our full-time PG, but I can't? Outrageous to say that a rookie who played SG in college, who is projected as an NBA SG is not going to be a NBA PG? Sheesh. I feel ridiculous having to repeat the argument because it's not like I'm going out on a limb here. But some of you guys can't handle any sort of negative comment, no matter how mild or realistic it is.
I said in my post I've seen enough to say he's not our answer at PG. I said he could play backup minutes at PG if we really needed, but he's not our answer at PG. What holds him back? Talent for the position. He showed flashes. And I think those flashes are appropriate for a rookie NBA SG. We need some playmaking ability there too. But PG is another level. He is not striking me as a player that can play the position full-time. Players always are given aspects of their game to work on. And Oladipo acquiring a 3-pt shot with the jump in 3Pt% was impressive, and his shot looked good tonight, his work ethic must be amazing. But having a player improve their shot is a far cry from telling a player, "become a PG", "become good at running an offense".

Yea, I "even"' watched the game today. His ball handling looked fine to me. He did seem to not really know what to do once he passed half-court, but that's probably because there were no set plays to run. In your response to why he can't be a full-fledged PG, you said that he's lost on offense / can't run an offense. I'm pretty sure that's because they haven't been given anything to run.
