With the Lakers losing Dwight, Kobe coming off an ACL and their projected cap room in 2014 it may be time for them to rebuild a bit. Currently Nash is the only one on the books next summer, anyone have any guesses if he might be available and at what cost? Given his age and their position would Stuckey's expiring deal and sweetener be a offensive offer? I think it'd be nice to bring in a vet pg who can still play and is willing to serve as a BK mentor.

While I agree it's not likely they'd trade Nash as I can't imagine Kobe would be ok with it, I don't believe they'd think Monroe is a realistic conversation piece.

I would guess a pick and expiring could net you Nash at this point. LA is not competing, and they'd like out of his contract I imagine. Don't think he's a good fit though.

Lakers dealt so many future picks in the Dwight and Nash moves, rebuild would be very hard plus Kobe won't be down for it.

I don't see Smith being his best at SF and if a team would be willing to part with a young rising star at PG. Detroit moves him. Look what Paul did for the Clips, Irving for the Cavs, and Lillard for the Blazers. IMHO, Point Guard is the most important spot in the league.

^Irving is a great player, but what exactly has he done for the Cavs?

They've still had top 4 lottery positions in each of his seasons.

But yeah, I think its fairly academic that an upgrade at point is a must, and I still don't think Knight is that guy.
