And then the best backup PG or big is going to be for the room exception.
With the Nuggets cooperation the Warriors would still have the MLE, their trade exceptions, and bird rights to sign and trade one of their guys that already agreed to another deal for other assets or trade exceptions.
So ya I can see why the Nuggets have no leverage.
Pls explain??
It is not about Jack coming back, it is about replacing him, do you think you will get an adequate replacement for $2.55 million a year? do you think you can get a replacement for Landry for $2.55 million? Do you think you can get a replacement for each one of them for $2.55 million and a minimum contract? Sure you can replace Beidrens for the minimum, but you have a team that is short 2 bigs and your only decent backup PG, where does the ability to replace those guys come from?
Despite the hype since he agreed to go to the warriors, Igoudala is not a superstar, he is also not a PG not to mention what happens when Curry is injured or just tired as he seems to be your only PG, and if you are planning on playing him or Barnes 25-30 MPG at PF when Bogut or Lee are injured than I would not expect any improvement from signing Igoudala.
Fact is doing a sign and trade for Iggy, gives them a Trade exception for around $9 million, a TPE for Rush for around $4 million, the ability to use the MLE, the ability to use the LLE, and the bird rights to both Jack and Landry (allowing the Warriors the chance to sign and trade one of them to their respective destinations). In other words they have several different options to go out and add additional players.
Or they can just sign Igoudala outright.
