I think you guys might be operating on an outdated perception of Pierce. Since '08 he's very much been an off-ball player. Joe Johnson also stretches the floor. Plus KG's range stretches out 18-20 feet as well as Lopez. I don't think spreading the floor, or offense in general is an issue. How high a level defensively they're able to whip up is the big question and even then it's not even that big an issue.
No, what we're saying is Pierce and AK47 can't guard people as well as they used to a few years back. Especially Pierce.
They need a wing off the bench who can take SF/SG and play tough minded D. They will definitely be a good team defense esp with two guys protecting the rim in KG and Lopez.
