I hate that Deron is going to be pushed out of the top 10 right now, Curry had a great season and a rather beastly playoff run but I'm not taking him over Deron, he's just not as good and he's an immensely bigger health risk to miss more time or go through a long stretch exactly like Deron's first half last year where he looks like a shell of himself even if still a very good top 25 to 30 level player.

Duncan is way too high for my liking as well if we're going for the past season mixed with the present and likely case going forward, thinking.

Last actual season he was phenomenal, but the chances he's even a top 15 player this year and then going forward to me is incredibly unlikely and unrealistic.

If this was top players of last season Duncan at 5 is fine with me, but not as a going forward type of ranking.

And I won't beef much with Melo this high, he's a great player overall even with his shortcomings on full display, but again as a going forward/current player ranking, I take Deron over him with the quickness, let alone Wade and 2 or 3 others to be completely honest. If you drop Curry and Duncan out of the top 10 Melo should still be on there though.

I'm obviously a fan of Curry, but I understand why others might not value him as highly as I do. At the same time, I think you have to concede that he at least has an argument at this point.

I too disagree with how high Duncan went. And I actually think Harden is a bit overrated as well and shouldn't be top 10 either, but I understand it, he had a fantastic season.

As for Wade, I'm a big fan of his game...but if we should consider health factors for guys like Curry and Deron, what about Wade? It's pretty much a guarantee that he's going to deal with injuries and either miss games or play at a limited level for a large stretch of games next year and pretty much moving forward for the rest of his career, actually. So he's someone that's a big question mark for me moving forward.

So Kobe coming off an Achilles injury and more likely to retire from injury than play at a high level next year is the 9th best player in the league? Ahead of Wade, Deron, Parker, Westbrook, and even KG?

LMAO.

An Achilles injury is the worst injury he could have sustained at this point of his career, far worse than any sort of knee ligament tear. I think there was a study that showed that an overwhelming amount of older players that suffer an Achilles tear rarely make it back successfully. Sure, someone like Kobe, with his work ethic, could be the exception, but it doesn't look good for him based on history. He has by far the biggest injury question marks moving forward than anyone else on the board.

He's said to be 'shattering records' or something for recoveries from an Achilles. Probably partly Lakers PR but he was said to have had a new procedure done. Medical advancements make everything far worse than it used to be. Could someone please point me to a recent Achilles injury in a player? I don't know of many recent instances unless I'm for some reason just drawing a blank. Also, he's Kobe. 27-6-6 is plain unfair for someone his age, nobody expected that a few years ago. I think he has one more surprise in store.

But well see. I think he plays opening day though.

Marc Gasol is now eligible to receive votes.

I must say, this Top 10 is definitely different than my personal top 10. When we finish the top 25 as a group, I think I'll have everyone post their personal top 25 and we can take each other to task over our rankings. :D

The count is wrong NyCe. Italians in NBA and macgyver voted for Kobe, not Parker, which means Kobe should have won 4-3, and Parker should still be a nominee.
