Now I just bought another strat. I'm not a strat guy, and the picture the guy had was a sunburst tele by Austin, but when I got there it was a sunburst strat. He only wanted ten dollars for it ($20 before he realized I was bummed). It was too good of a deal to pass up.
Now the question, do I just keep it a strat, and beef up all the other parts, or do I cut and shape the body to make a totally different look? I already reshaped a strat headstock to look like a tele on the other strat, and it came out very good. The body has a decent paint job, and reshaping it might be very tough to keep. I have a ton of guitars, so I don't need another strat, and it would be cool to make my own guitar body, and it only cost $10.

For ten bucks, sure, mess it up. Put a humbucker in it, like Keith R does on his teles. Frankenstein guitars are fun.
Can't understand why you'd reshape a headstock though - lot of work and it looks pretty much the same. Old-style small hstock? I did like them better than the bigger one they went to
