We should deal... I have 5 C's on my roster.

hamncheese wrote:I think that was the fastest "end of draft" drafting I've ever seen. Usually things slow down at the end because people aren't as enthusiastic about drafting the low end players, especially in a deep league.

hamncheese wrote:Can't argue with Team DNP as a name. It's natural to take on injury risk, but you can only take on so much. I agree that if healthy, this should be a good team for points and fg%. Above average in ft% and, if healthy, good in assists (healthy trio of Wade, Nash, and Teague is at least 19 apg, if not more, with another 10 apg collectively from Lee, Gordon, and Collison, and an average of 1 per from the remaining 8). Rebounds I am not as sure of as I see 20 from Lee and Bynum, and above average from Brand and Stoudemire, but then a big drop off with the rest of the team. And, as I list off these players, I am not confident to predict the minutes and games from the likes of Stoudemire, Bynum, Wade, Gordon, and Nash.
Can't really argue against where any of the players were drafted. Anderson might be a nice sneaky pick, though the latest talk is moving Thad to SF.
Overall as a team, I'm putting it in the bottom half of the league.
writersblock wrote:Wow, you're not kidding about going DNP. If they all play 82 games, you're a shoe-in for the playoffs. But I doubt they all play 82 games. I do think you got some good talent later than the picks should've gone. Gordon, Nash, Wade, Bynum, and Teague should all outplay their positions, if they can stay healthy.
Other guys I like:
James Anderson: This could be an absolute steal. JRich is out for who knows how long (some say he won't play this year), and they really don't have any other shooting guards. Anderson could either be the starter or will earn enough minutes to put up some good numbers.
Donats Motiejunas: I don't think he'll get enough minutes to be a real force, but he's definitely worth the value in the 250s. He's going to have some great games while the Rockets figure out how to use Asik and Howard together. Asik really isn't a scorer, so he can't play PF, and though Greg Smith may start, Motiejunas is just as good as he is.
Guys that I have to admit I don't like:
David Lee: He's a name guy who you think is great, but when you look at his numbers, he's not that great. Sure, he'll double double in points and boards, but no blocks. His %s are good, but I think you could have gotten guys who would fill the stat sheet better at 44.
Amare: I think he's done. Even if he's not done, he's another guy that doesn't do much more than score.
Boris Diaw: He's a waste of a pick. Sure it's a pick in the 260s, but there were people with a better chance of putting up numbers than him.
Collison: You got him really late, so I shouldn't knock this pick too much. I just don't think he'll get the minutes he needs behind CP3. He was getting almost 30 min/game last year. He'll get enough to be serviceable I'm sure, but I just don't think he'll be that great. But I guess something like 8 ppg, 3ast, .5-1 steal isn't bad value for a pick at 196.
So where does that leave your team?
You're really strong in %s, especially FG%. You should also be strong in points and boards. TOs shouldn't be too bad either. As for Assists, steals, 3s, and blocks, I'd say you're probably average.
You're a playoff team if everyone plays. You're bottom of the heap if DNPs and playing time limits add up like they most likely will. In fact, you could be that team that everyone looks at and says, wow, that's a great roster on paper. Why isn't he doing better than that?
posted the link in the SKL thread. That bummed me out, but at 103 he should still be great for FG%, points, some boards, and a decent FT% for a big. Hopefully he doesn't miss additional time.
