Eh...
You could only develop so many "young players with potential" at a time...
I think there are way too many guys who you woldn't know what to expect from them once the season started that we already have or could end up on the team:
Wes Johnson (whose in his fourth year but it's still not certain whether he'll do well with us or not.)
Rob Sacre (Had some short moments last year. Never know exactly what he'll bring this year)
Ryan Kelly
Xavier Henry
Elias Harris
Marcus Landry
Shawne Williams
Still not sure how Jordan Farmar is gonna look during the season. Still has potential to do something good in the leauge but there's definetly no guarantees.
And a bunch of those guys will play behind either Kobe or Nick Young. I love young talent but too much could make things completely unstable. Sasha would add some good stability. Plus it'd be good to give the young guys with the most potential the most attention and minuetes.
With Sasha you wouldn't have to develop him. If he were on the bench and you needed him you know what you're getting... 3 and D. And during practice he'd really make everyone, including the young guys, work for their meal.
Talking about how bad Julius Randle is:
