But I do envy fans that dont nikpik at those things, they probably enjoy the game a lot more. Just like the shine on my shoes, ignorance is bliss.
Im sure u meant to say 'lack of awareness to STAY IN bounds'. But to be clear, it's not that I didn't notice that he went out of bounds when he should have stayed in, it's just that I think its crazy not to focus on the 'game winning reception' part of the play and instead on the 'not staying in bounds' part. It's not an ignorance situation at all (in fact I happened to have lost 500$ because of the play when Marion Barber went out of bounds in the bears-broncos game two years ago when tebow and the broncos went on to win in overtime), its more a glass half full vs half empty situation, or in the case of the Finley play today a glass 99% full vs 1% empty situation.
In the Barber play two years ago, it was f*cking horrible because Barbers ONLY important job was to stay in bounds and he failed, just like Mcmillains only job was to stay deep and Kuhns only important job was to not turn the ball over by touching it. But for Finley, 99 percent of what was important for the packers winning was for him to get the first down and he happened to get all the way down to the Ravens 20 yrd line. It's not nitpicking to say that u wanted to chew out Finley after that play he made to win the game, it's simply insanity and completely unabashed pessimism and Finley-hating. If Finley hadnt won the game on that reception I could see chewing him out, but he did win the game on that play and therefore the only rational response to that occurance is to be happy and congratulatory of Finley. Maybe nicely remind him to stay in bounds next time (but I mean dude, it's f*cking Jermichael Finley, he's not gonna remember for the next time anyway) and then give him a damn hug and tell him he's awesome for making a game winning play.
It can't be this hard to understand why I had a problem with what Bernman posted, I'm as critical as the next guy when criticism is due but when you're pissed off at a guy for the end of the play that won the damn game that's where u lose me...
