How is it a tank to bench a guy shooting 27%?

3 games is too small of a sample size to judge FG%. Young is still a much better player than Henry.

I'd say the same for your assessment of tanking.

Young has been absolutely terrible... Not one redeemable aspect to his game right now...

Whereas has been a sparkplug and one of the few bright spots since preseason.

Maybe this is what Young needs to pull his head out.

Nick Young is so garbage that having Henry starting over him now is a no-brainer. Always knew I wouldn't like Nick Young's game coming into this season, still feel the same way.

Why isn't Hill starting? We all knew in the offseason that he's the best PF on the team.

Is D'Antoni still in love with Williams' lame outside shooting? How pathetic.

Start Hill.

Another problem is that Hill is also injury prone thus why Hill is not getting anymore minutes because we can't risk that.

This year we have our own pick if its high... but the Lakers don't tank. Last time when Kobe was injured we got Bynum.

risk what? what do we have to lose from hill getting injured? hes just a role player and its not like hes a long term solution to anything.

Tiesto_Lakers wrote:I'm getting the feeling that the Lakers are tanking, and I can't blame them. We have a bunch of guys on 1-year contracts who are just showcasing their talent for next summer. We're not even playing Nash, Young, and Gasol in the 4th quarters...instead we're playing Blake for 32 minutes, in which he goes 2-12, all on open looks.

I think the FO will give this team until the beginning of February to see where we're heading this year. If after Kobe returns we climb into the playoffs, then we probably won't tank. But if we stink even with Kobe, I can see us dumping Gasol to a contender for a bunch of expiring contracts, just to ensure the tank.

Really liked this question - so much so that I thought it warranted some really decent coverage!
