Asik obviously doesn't work on Houston. Houston wants to put shooters around Dwight. The role for Asik is ideally 10-15 minutes a night, if that. Playing them together is just a waste of resources.
I think Fav would be the perfect backup to Dwight. He can shoot a little, play defense, and most importantly he's cost controlled for the next 3 years and would slot perfectly into a 10-15 minutes a night role.
Here the trade I was kicking around:
Green + Bass + Fav for Asik + Lin + Beverly + Greg Smith
Asik is the perfect fit around KO and Sully. Smith replaces Bass's athleticism around the rim. Lin and Beverly complement Rondo and Bradley almost perfectly. It's a win/win for both sides. And we just happen to open up a spot at SF when several good SF prospects coming out in next year's draft.
Houston's not trading their PG rotation without getting guards back.
I think it would be far simpler to trade Green for Asik straight up. Or Green/Fav for Asik/Smith.
