It's a anomaly how we're 3-2 on the plus end of .500 thru the span of that slump. I just want it to end already. At this point I don't think it's no longer his shoulder anymore. He's just lacking confidence in his shot and that's why he's short arming it or trying to guide it in the rim with no rotation.

I'm too lazy to really comment on this game. All I know is that MKG is continuing his solid play, and a win is a win. It's especially good for the Bobcats to beat the Cavaliers, who are somewhat of a rivalry when you consider them as lottery foes, Kemba vs Kyrie, Biyombo vs Thompson

at what? overall career? shooter? overall player? making well know clutch shots?

miller obviously gets a major plus for playing at a fairly high level for a long time. he also gets a plus for being a consistently good 3pt shooter, one of the best of his era.

that being said, curry is playing at a level right now that i dont think miller ever reached. curry can also impact a game in more ways than miller. miller was only good at two things - catch and shoot jumpers and straight line drives to the rim (drawing fouls, hitting fts at a high rate). curry does both of those things but is a much better shooter off the dribble, much better inbetween game and much better passer. both are about equal as defenders.

i will admit that i do believe miller is one of the most overrated players of his generation. he gets a better reputation based on longevity, a few very well known baskets in the playoffs vs the media capital of the world, and continuing to stay in the NBA limelight long after his career is over.

miller was never in the discussion for being the best shooting guard in the league, never in discussion for 2nd best and rarely in the discussion for 3rd best. you had jordan, then guys like drexler, dumars, richmond were almost always considered better. and by the time he was later in his career, the shooting guard peak happened when kobe, ray allen, tmac, iverson and vince carter were better. then you even had a few flash in the pan peaks that were as good or better than miller at the time such as - sprewell, houston, redd.

so yeah, i'll take curry and pray for his ankles.

I'll admit that Reggie Miller is my favorite player of all time, but only a Miller hater would say that Mitch Richmond, Latrell Sprewell, Allan Houston and Michael Redd were even in Reggie's stratosphere.

None of them could hold Reggie's jock on a good day.

I've got a copy of a 1998-99 NBA preview magazine (which, of course, hardly proves my point, but still) with a player poll of who are the best players in the league in it. Jordan (who wouldn't retire for another couple months) was #1. Reggie Miller was 2nd, ahead of Kobe, Shaq, Olajuwon, and other players you'd probably rank above him like Kerry Kittles and Jeff Hornacek.

At the end of the day, if I'm ranking 2-guards all-time, give me MJ, Kobe, Reggie, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, George Gervin, Ray Allen and Gerald Henderson....Senior...

Whoa, whoa. Mitch Richmond wasn't even in Reggie's stratosphere?

You're definitely biased.

Richmond was as good a player as Miller, just didn't have dramatic moments for people to remember.
He averaged more points, was a more versatile scorer and better defender.
Agree about the others but Mitch was a really good player. Which is what Miller was a really good not great player.

I hesitate to call a career sub-40% guy a shooter.

lets clarify what i meant when i brought sprewell, houston and redd into the mix...

what i was saying was that any at almost any point in millers career there were always 2-3 shooting guards better than him (sans for maybe the year after jordan retired and right before kobe took off).

2001-2003 allan houston was better than reggie (to be fair, reggie was getting old at that point).

redd was a bad example, because he had his great two years after reggie was done. forget i mentioned him. but redd in 2005-2007 was certainly on the same level as some of the good years from reggie. redd was on fire during that two year span.

sprewell certainly had years where he was better than miller during the same year, evidenced by the fact that sprewell was 1st team all-nba in 93-94.

for as great as reggie's reputation was, he only made 5 all-star games over his 15 year career, yet people talk about him like he was a 10 time all-star. reggie never made a 1st or 2nd team all-nba team, he made 3rd team three times.

and i cant agree that richmond wasnt on the same level as reggie. richmond didnt have the good fortune of playing on as many playoff teams as reggie therefore he was never able to build that playoff reputation like reggie did. richmond, 6 time all-star, all-nba 2nd team (3times), 3rd team (2 times).

i give reggie credit for being consistently really good for a long time and for having some amazing playoff moments and for being one of the 10 best 3pt shooters to ever play the game.
