I wouldn't mind giving up Shump/Hardaway package for him, but we shouldn't include an unprotected 2018 pick. You never know where the team will be 5 years from now. It is simply too risky. If they do have to include a pick, it should be top five protected.
I think we can salvage a very decent team around those three. You would essentially need a bunch of shooters. Not that it will be easy to get them, but I can see us being able to do that down the road.
Let's say we complete a deal like this: Bargnani/Felton/Shump/Hardaway plus a protected pick for Wallace/Rondo. My guess is Boston would prefer this deal (if they do want a deal indeed) instead of a Amare centered deal as these four can actually play. If they would rather have Amare instead and add Lee to the deal, it is even better for us.
On a deal like that we would be left with Chandler/Melo/Artest/Smith/Rondo with Pablo/Udrih/KMart/Amare/Wallace off the bench. We would need additional moves down the road as it is a piss poor shooting squad, but it is not a bad start. We would have Amare's expiring next year and 3 million exception essentially. The year after we would have Wallace's expiring. I don't necessarily think you can get stars for those contracts, but we can definitely find some useful pieces.
I actually think a deal could be done with Bargs and Amare in it.....
Felton/Bargs/Amare/Shump and Thjr and a future first.
-4-
Rondo/Bass/Green/Wallace and Lee
This works money wise and Boston would pretty much dump all there bad contracts for them to expire a year earlier.
Rondo/Prigs/Beno
Smith/Lee
Green/Wallace/MWP
Melo/Bass
Chandler/Martin/Cole/Tyler
