Glad to see you guys starting to come around to the "Smart Side"

George is a top 10 player in the league. if we got that out of this draft I'd be elated.

I think the people saying "if we got Paul George with the first pick this draft is a huge disappointment" are ridiculous. George is probably a top 7 player, and I much rather have a Paul George type player then a Carmelo Anthony type player (and I think Parker is a poor mans Melo). I don't think this draft has that surefire top 20 player ever like a lot of people think, but I think you can get a guy that with minimal effort you could build a contender around.

Did I make that argument?

This would be much more productive if you guys didn't put words in my mouth.

I don't believe I ever said you did.....

I still have him in the same tier as Embiid, I don't think you can really go wrong in the top 6 though.

Just saw the Embiid highlights tonight on ESPN. Looked like Hibbert with a pinch of Hakeem mixed in. Really nice post moves.

Really would be happy with the Top 6. Would add Gordon to make it 7 if he impresses tonight.

Still dreaming of Jabari and Wiggins the most though.

I dunno what to think of Gordon. He has the tools to be a good power forward, I don't think he will ever fully commit to playing like a power forward though. I don't think he's a tweener at all, he'll never be able to play small forward, and he seems to really want to.

I love Paul George as a player. I think the lot of you is **** insane if you think Wiggins won't be considered a disappointment if he only ends up at that level.

Yeah appreciate the heads up from the earlier post. Not sure what to make of Gordon. Seems like the kind of guy that is a top three pick in most normal drafts but also a guy the Bucks would draft and he'd bust.

He is exactly that guy. He looks exactly like a Beasley or Griffin type pf so far IMO.

I think the people touting him as a top ten all time player before he ever played even a college games were the insane ones.

Paul George is a franchise player. That's what I want, and Wiggins can be that.

No insane is expecting someone to become an MVP candidate with any level of certainty when they're 18 freaking years old and 3 games into their college season. Much of the Wiggins love is based on projection because most view him as very early on in his developmental curve. None of us truly know if he has the requisite work ethic, or ability to realize that potential. That's why they're called prospects.

Even if LeBron had only become a top 10 player in the league instead of top 10 all-time, I'd hesitate to call him a disappointment. And LeBron was light years ahead of anyone in this class as a prospect.

This is the first night I've sat down to watch him. From the first 8 minutes of the game or so all I can comment is he is very athletic. Definitely think he is closer to the lower half of the top 10 than the upper, but the thing with all these guys is you know they are going to improve as the season goes on...which is the real scary cool, good, awesome aspect of this whole season! (so long as the Bucks don't go on any winning streaks!)

I love George, but he'll never be an MVP caliber player. He's a very clear step below LeBron and Durant at the SF position. I think you are in a very small minority if you have viewed Wiggins as a George type player the last year or so.

Alright, two things:

1 - George right now is playing at an MVP level at age 23. If he doesn't win one in the next few years because there is a dude named LeBron walking the planet, that isn't a slight on George. That's just being unlucky to play in an era with one of the best ever in his prime.

Parker at this early stage in the season is my #1. I've been high on Smart since last season. He's not just another scoring guard, he's got the total package.

I also think Parker goes ahead of Wiggins because he's got the Kobe "killer mode" to him. In his game vs Kansas he was a cold blooded assassin out there (sorry for all the graphic references just what I said to people watching the game with me). He had no fear and welcomed taking the tough shots. He had a smooth looking outside shot and was a mesh between McGrady and Carmelo to me.

I reserve the right to change my opinion, but with a small sample size I'd love to see Parker in a Bucks uni. Hell, I'd love to see about 5-6 of these 2014 prospects in Bucks uniforms.

They best not screw this **** up and start winning.
We're going to turn this team around 360 degrees.

This is true. Now that you mention this, he is definitely more Beasley than Griffin IMO and I have watched him play quite a bit here in AZ. A solid player for sure but not on the level of those top 5-6 guys. I love this AZ team though. They look damn good so far.

I just really hope they cool him on his jumper. It's never going to be his strong suit and its his go to on offense so far. I don't think he's an awful jump shooter, he could be respectable from 15-20 I think and it could open up some drives for him but the problem with that comes in that right now he's shooting it way too much. If he thinks of attacking the basket as his second option and thinks he's going to be able to stretch out to the NBA three he's nuts. I said before I think he could be a David Lee type stretch four, but I don't think he wants to.

It's a small sample size, but yeah he's probably been the 4th best player in the league after LeBron/Durant/CP3

Agreed. Either people don't realize how good Paul George is, or they have some truly absurd expectations about these players.

I'm sure there would be a lot of people who'd be disappointed in Wiggins if he was 'only' Paul George. I'm even more sure that LeBron would have been a disappointment had he never gotten better than a top 10 player in the league. The LeBron hype was unlike anything before or since, and when you watched him play, it felt totally justified.

From age 16 he was pretty much thought of as a sure thing to be the next all time great basketball player. I think a lot of people will consider him a disappointment if he doesn't have 7 rings when he retires.
