I think the people saying "if we got Paul George with the first pick this draft is a huge disappointment" are ridiculous. George is probably a top 7 player, and I much rather have a Paul George type player then a Carmelo Anthony type player (and I think Parker is a poor mans Melo). I don't think this draft has that surefire top 20 player ever like a lot of people think, but I think you can get a guy that with minimal effort you could build a contender around.

I still have him in the same tier as Embiid, I don't think you can really go wrong in the top 6 though.

Yeah appreciate the heads up from the earlier post. Not sure what to make of Gordon. Seems like the kind of guy that is a top three pick in most normal drafts but also a guy the Bucks would draft and he'd bust.

I dunno what to think of Gordon. He has the tools to be a good power forward, I don't think he will ever fully commit to playing like a power forward though. I don't think he's a tweener at all, he'll never be able to play small forward, and he seems to really want to.

I love George, but he'll never be an MVP caliber player. He's a very clear step below LeBron and Durant at the SF position. I think you are in a very small minority if you have viewed Wiggins as a George type player the last year or so.
Alright, two things:
1 - George right now is playing at an MVP level at age 23. If he doesn't win one in the next few years because there is a dude named LeBron walking the planet, that isn't a slight on George. That's just being unlucky to play in an era with one of the best ever in his prime.

No insane is expecting someone to become an MVP candidate with any level of certainty when they're 18 freaking years old and 3 games into their college season. Much of the Wiggins love is based on projection because most view him as very early on in his developmental curve. None of us truly know if he has the requisite work ethic, or ability to realize that potential. That's why they're called prospects.
Even if LeBron had only become a top 10 player in the league instead of top 10 all-time, I'd hesitate to call him a disappointment. And LeBron was light years ahead of anyone in this class as a prospect.
