I hate that excuse. If you suck, then yes, the schedule becomes more difficult as halfway competent teams can beat you.

the defense has been a lot better in the last two games, which is definitely a step in the right direction. the offense looked really bad against Atlanta and was the worst offensive game of the season.
this team has talent, and talent usually finds a way to win in the regular season. the playoffs are way too far away to say how we'll do there but I am very confident that we can get it going.
please don't be so negative guys, okay?

As bad as they are right now, they are still the 8th seed. I doubt they are going to get any worse than this, so worst case scenario is probably 8th seed or missing the playoffs and getting the 12th-14th pick which would go to CHA.
I can't see any situation where they end up 8th worst and keep the pick.
As bad as things seem now, trust me you don't want this team to go into the tank. Then things will get really ugly and while it would probably get rid of Joe and Cheeks, we would be left with a bunch of disgruntled vets on long contracts in Smith and Jennings. I could see thing get ugly if that happened and the last thing they need is a divided locker room that you can't do anything about because of contracts. Even if you got the top pick, thats not the type of environment that's going to lead to that rookie developing properly. This team needs to right the ship with the players they have or make some trades. Tanking for more rookies is certainly not the answer.

I think we are lucky to be in the 8th spot at this moment, I don't think we are going to be there by the end of the season, I can think of at least 8 teams who are could easily finish better than us.
Heat
Pacers
Bulls
Nets
Knicks
Atlanta
Charlotte
Wizards/cavs/raptors
