so yeah, pretty blah season so far.
I don't think that half of the league is tanking. It's just that the average Eastern teams (Detroit, Milwaukee, Washington, Cleveland and Toronto) screwed a pooch by heading in the season expecting to make the playoffs but turning out to be rather weak. When you add them to the completely normal number (approximately 5 - Utah, Suns, Sixers, Magic, Celtics) of teams that tanked from the start and consider that us and the Kings are still bad, even though we haven't tanked that blatantly and actually did upgrade our roster during summer, it combines to a whole lot of blah teams. Those are already 12 teams I've mentioned. And then there are the Knicks and Nets of this world...
Bottom line is that it has been a bit of a wacky start to the season and the teams that are in the middle of the standings are weaker than usual and a lot weaker than you should be in November. I'd say that if there was no Miami, this would be a fun and unpredictable year.
Oh and also I'm just a junkie who will probably enjoy every NBA season.
