Look what happen to Wall and how everyone here worried so much. They said he would return and get injured again. That he would need surgery. Why was it taking so long ? Well a ton of poster here were wrong and worried to much.
They rested Wall. They were cautious. He got healthy. He returned and he stayed on the floor.
This version of how the medical staff works is clearly on the side of giving players extra time to recover so that once they return, the same injury doesn't take them right back out again. And that's the smart thing to do. If the player needs 6 weeks, give them 8-10. Don't let injuries pill up and become chronic.
Hell, look at what happen to Rose. Even though they rested him properly, he still got injured again. Tough breaks are going to happen. But it wasn't because they didn't do their do diligence. All you can do is minimize the chance of them happening. But Rose is exactly why I don't like giving players long max contracts. Not unless they are freaks like LeBron, Kobe, MJ or Duncan.
