what the hell are you talking about, Raptors have sucked since their existence and there is still a good fan base.

Yup. I've said this already - neither teams have attractive packages. I think we should use this war over Lowry and find somewhere else to deal him.

These trades are awful.

I hope Masai doesn't accept either...not an impressive return at all.

No namers to you, but like Valanciunas before the last draft, Bogdanovic is a known name to NBA scouts and general managers.

When you decide to tank, you no longer think in terms of talent, you think in terms of chips, like poker chips. Everything is a chip. Bogdanovic is a better chip than a 2018 Knick pick because you can leverage it in the 2014 or 2015 time frame. Having extra leverage in the coming draft would be a good thing in terms of the quality of a second pick in addition to our own. We are likely to have our own high pick, our own high second rounder, and if we get a late first rounder, take back some salary, etc, we can create a second first round pick in the 15-20 range, maybe even very late lottery.

Step 1 trade for Bojan Bogdanovic

Step 2 draft Bogdan Bogdanovic in the 2nd round next year

The 24 year old is ready to step into the rotation for a contender. He'd likely never play for us. It's asset accrual, not player development. You only think of player development when you get your next draft pick.

The team was sub .500 for most of BC's tenure for example. Yep, the Raps will be fine.

Who's giving up a late first for Bogdanovic? He can't even defend in Europe. I question his value. Might as well just keep Lowry 'til the deadline if we're going to take back bad salary AND not get anything promising back. A 2018 pick at least can be dangled later in a variety of scenarios.

On the back of their jerseys, one will simply have a giant "J" and the other, "GD"

Totally disagree. I like the NJ package....and if true, would take it right now while it is still on table.......and would pull Lowry from line-up so he can't get injured if this or any other deal seems imminent.

Lowry for Hinrich and a pick would work -- both are expirings, but Lowry should be an upgrade in Chicago, particularly defensively.

Hinrich is done, he's been complete garbage.

That's kinda the point. He's not very good, and certainly won't be on the Raps (helps the Tank). But he's an expiring.

Ujiri: Hey...We're gonna get it. I don't know when it'll be, but we're gonna get it. Just like I said we'll get the first one and I said I didn't know when we'd get it...But we will. Guarantee you we will.

Devlin should be addressing the Lowry situation tonight.

Honestly I'd just keep Lowry see if something better pops along rather than help the Knicks and or Nets with these current deals.

Taking on MWP and Felton AND giving them Lowry for a first five years from now doesn't seem like a good deal to me, neither does the Nets offer.

They seem to have no level of interest, so what you want is totally irrelevant

I don't see why they wouldn't. Sure they're name isn't in trade rumours but Ujiri should make the call at least. Cn't see Minny turning it down

They have Rubio. They have a half decent backup in Barea. I can certainly see the Wolves turning them down.

You're right. An expiring and 1st rounder is good return for Lowry

He's shooting 53.4% from the floor and 41.5% from three in the Euroleague this year. Even if he's only a shooter, as the league is finally discovering the true value of three point shooting guys like him become extremely valuable. So yeah, he's a pretty good prospect.

I'd take the Nets deal over the Knicks one personally, only because I don't want to be paying Felton for two more years after this one. Moving forward with the Nets deal, we only have to pay Tele $3.2 for another year and he's a perfectly capable end-of-the-bench big. We can then either flip Bojan (love that name), or just bring him over as a rotation player next year. It sets us up much better for a speedy rebuild, as I think adding a top-5 pick and a better coach can catapult us into the playoffs next year as long as we hold on to Amir, DD, Val, and Ross as our core guys.
