Crazy to think that after it looked like we committed a robbery giving up just Omar Infante and Mike Dunn for Dan Uggla, that we would have been so much better off not doing that trade. I can't see the Braves paying two 2B this season, so I don't think Infante is coming if they scrap Uggla. If we have to pay Uggla to play for another team they'll just try to run with La Stella or Pastornicky at 2B. Can't see them trying to trade him for a bigger contract either like Brandon Phillips, don't think they want to bog that position down when they have cheaper options in the minors.
Going to miss Huddy, but can't blame him for taking that kinda money. He got 3 years, $27 million from us 3 years ago when he was 35, you can tell baseball is screwed up financially when he gets almost the same total amount of money for 2 years when he's 38.
Glad we reached an agreement with Everyday Jonny and hopefully O'Flaherty will come cheaper since the Tommy John surgery. Overall, I think the Braves are in good shape for 2014, if the bullpen can stay remotely healthy this season as opposed to last they are stacked especially if O'Flaherty comes back. I still like the offensive potential of the team even with the roster how it is. The major concern is inexperience of pitching staff, but with Roger McDowell leading the way, that will help pave some of the potholes that we are likely to encounter with them. Still think the Braves will sign or trade for a veteran pitcher once they get arbitration players dealt with and figure out how their financial situation lies.
