Enough with Jeff Green. He is a nice player. He is a solid player. He is not a player you build around as top-3 guy. He has a 15.41 PER and ranks 14th among starting SFs. That makes him league average. He is a solid defender, not a great one. Celtics have a chance to acquire a premier defensive center for an average SF and average PF without giving up any picks.
Green's PER will rise as soon as Rondo is back. He is not the type of player who goes after the ball or demands it, and quite frankly, he isn't getting as many touches this year as he should be. Rondo will improve Jeff's game the second he steps back onto the court.
With Green's knack for hitting last minute shots, and Rondo's knack for finding the open guy on final plays, that's a deadly one two punch at the end of games. Tell me, who is going to take that last shot for us if Green is gone?
