Hammers: Bobcats Vs Kings

Post#1 » by BigSlam » Wed Dec 18, 2013 2:33 am

Image = Hobe
Played a really controlled 4 quarters. Loved his attack. Really balanced game and played good D.

Image = Sesh
Really pushed the ball into the teeth of the Kings D and gave them buggery all night.

Image = Kemba
Pretty quiet in the first half but really came alive in the 3rd quarter when we started to falter.

Happy winner pic:

Gold - Kemba Walker

Silver - Gerald Henderson

Bronze - Ramon Sessions

Honorable Mention - Bismack Biyombo: Bobcats lose this game if Biyombo doesn't replace Jefferson & enforce interior defense

You mean like this...

...while making him shoot 8 of 23 for 35%?

Come on, man, you're better than that. One highlight defensive play doesn't mean you did a good job on your defensive assignment. I can remember more than a couple of plays on which Kemba screwed up just off the top of my head. There shouldn't have been so many completely unforced defensive mistakes, in my opinion.

The 35% is a product of Isaiah's shot selection. It's not like we ever claim that the opponent locked down Kemba whenever he goes 3/17 by jacking up his jumpers, do we?

Kemba played good defense on Isaiah Thomas. Thomas is a good player so of course he's going to make some shots, but he usually shoots about in the 50-60% range on inferior defense. Sure, Kemba may have gave him a few shots while trying to help Al Jefferson with DeMarcus Cousins in the interior, but Thomas made almost every good look he got, and there were few. The majority of the 8 out of 23 shots that Thomas did make was when Kemba funneled him into the paint towards the big with his off hand (right) only to watch Jefferson play matador defense, allowing Thomas a easy layup. When Biyombo came into the game, Thomas was lost in translation

Don't bother trying to use logic. Some people just don't get it.

It's not even about using logic. It just ruffles my feathers to the point where I have to debate when I read unjust criticism. Like what did we expect, Isaiah Thomas not to make any baskets?! Locking a guy that's been shooting as efficient as Thomas has this season to 35% in a game is about as good of defense as you can ask for
