I can remember more than a couple of plays on which Kemba screwed up just off the top of my head. There shouldn't have been so many completely unforced defensive mistakes, in my opinion.
The 35% is a product of Isaiah's shot selection. It's not like we ever claim that the opponent locked down Kemba whenever he goes 3/17 by jacking up his jumpers, do we?
Kemba played good defense on Isaiah Thomas. Thomas is a good player so of course he's going to make some shots, but he usually shoots about in the 50-60% range on inferior defense. Sure, Kemba may have gave him a few shots while trying to help Al Jefferson with DeMarcus Cousins in the interior, but Thomas made almost every good look he got, and there were few. The majority of the 8 out of 23 shots that Thomas did make was when Kemba funneled him into the paint towards the big with his off hand (right) only to watch Jefferson play matador defense, allowing Thomas a easy layup. When Biyombo came into the game, Thomas was lost in translation
