Or Booker or Ves or whoever.
Webster should start over Beal tonight...he has much better size to contend
with Johnson who just came off a monster game. His monster game could
cut either way though. It might give him (JJ) the freedom to keep chucking
even if it's not going in like it was on Monday.
Starting Webster should make it easier to keep Beal under 30 minutes
as well as allowing Beal to go more against less physical players than JJ.
no way. Dont overthink things. Beal
is a top notch player. You dont bench him because of size. Size also works both ways. Beal should be too quick for him.
Furthermore, dont forget that Pierce doesnt start anymore. Anderson does. He's a solid player but Beal can guard him if size is a problem and let Ariza guard Johnson. Thats what I expected anyways. Let Webster matchup with Pierce off the bench
Beal has been inconsistent and his PPA is lower than Webster. Webster IS more of
a 'top notch' player than Beal /right now/. 2 years from now I hope and somewhat
expect that to be different than it is right now. And I don't look at it as a benching
per se. Beal is still going to play and probably for about the same amount of time.
I just think Webster has the potential to defend JJ better than Beal does.
I wouldn't call that overthinking. I would call that drawing your conclusions from the
actual data, both their respective size and results to date.
But maybe as you say it won't matter because TA will guard JJ and let Beal take on
the lessor challenge.
