The only thing that can stop him is a woman. (Who said it when about whom?) I realize it's not an exact quote, but pretty close.

Young team, road game on "hallowed" ground. I don't think there's any point to arguing individual calls, but no doubt the Celts were allowed a different level of physicality. The Pistons have no real standing yet, so they're not going to get a lot of calls on the road most nights.

Jennings played a great game, and it would have been better if he'd have gotten some help from his teammates when Bradley was bumping him all over the floor. Still, what is it some of you people want from him? Take a look at his line (yeah, I know, stats lie). Smith's defense on the final play was perfect. His interview after the game was well spoken and spot on (amazing for such a dumb guy, huh?).

Oh, and thanks to Maker_84 for adding even more entertainment value to the thread. I thought about putting him on a list, but then decided why let him upset me? He's so predictable. My congrats to those who kept their perspective through the whole thing (you know who you are).

Hindsight much? You can't blame us complaining when we were down 21 in the first quarter against a team that had the same record as us.

Nope, I'm saying I didn't see an obvious foul, period.

I'm also saying maybe, just MAYBE going iso Jennings against Bradley wasn't a good idea in the 1st place. Its the equivalent of going iso Smoove against LeBron and Jennings is being guarded by Roger Mason or some other tomato can. You look across from you to who's guarding you, see that you don't have the decided advantage, and find the teammate that DOES, and feed em.

I understand, but there is no one else in that lineup that could handle the ball or shoot as well as Jennings. You definitely don't want to pass it to Moose who will fumble the ball, or to Smith who will shoot a long ass 2, or to Dre who will get hacked. They also didn't seem to help by not moving around. The picks set by Smith and Dre weren't effective either.

Jennings was hot this game too. So why not ride him?

Trust me, I'm not arguing the logic of the ball being in his hands. I'm not one to argue refs, because you can't control that. You can control when you take and NOT take shots that might not be the best option on that possession. All I'm saying.

Considering he's an ohio state fan, I'm guessing he's a closet Cavs fan too just here to troll.

Note to forum, if everyone puts him on their ignore list, he will literally disappear lol

He can be made to disappear whether anyone puts him on their ignore list or not.

I'm not sure where hindsight comes into it. I'm not claiming I knew the Pistons would win. In fact, I thought it was going to be a bad loss. Happily it wasn't, but there will be others that are. I'm just saying relax and enjoy it, which I know can be hard to do when you're a fan. I'm not blaming anyone for anything. It just struck me funny. Being one of the geezers, I suppose it's easier for me having watched the Pistons go from bottom to top twice, and it wasn't always. Remember, we watch this stuff for fun.

You know, for all the years I have watched Pistons basketball, you would think I wouldn't get so emotionally invested, but I just cant help it.

Rise and fall, rise and fall. Still get as angry, and happy as I did when I was younger.

very good win. im so incredibly happy with brandon jennings so far this season. hes a shot maker we havent had for a long time. and he has not been doing the 'dribble for 20 seconds and either force as a pass to someone with no time left or take a bad shot' type of game that milwaukee said was all he did. he has allowed the ball to move, and if that doesnt work, he has done a great job of bailing the offense out.
i was one of the biggest supporters of knight, even got his jersey after the rookie year, and i hated the trade when it happened. but wow am i glad it got done. knight really hasnt progressed any more, and jennings is a big time player, making plays knight never wouldve done.

moose has been really solid lately too, and drummond inhales rebounds no matter how he plays on help defense. drummond with a killer instinct and even more confidence could become deadly in a few years. if he has the confidence and aggressiveness of shaq, with his athleticism, theres no limit to his ceiling.

josh smith is still the question mark, but im starting to see a LOT of improvement in his mindset and his understanding of how to fit in with the team at the SF. this team could be very could in the next few seasons. a little more chemistry, and a continued weak eastern conference should mean we are competitive for years to come.

I can't believe you actually bought a Brandon Knight jersey. Lol

Interesting stat line from elsewhere -- Brandon KNIGHT. Game isn't over, as it's tied in overtime, but he has 36 points on 23 shots (6 threes), and nine rebounds.

Thing is, though, he's just not a point guard. He's played 45 minutes and has 2 assists and 8 turnovers. If you can work the matchups and play him at the 2, there's nothing wrong with him as a NBA starter. If he runs the show, he's mostly running it for himself.

Interesting to read Bucks fans opinion of him. They seem to think he's a terrible PG but are happy to have him as it helps toward their tank.

You're right on. I watched the tail end of that game, and Knight squandered some key possessions by navigating into a bad spot or turning the ball over. Even in the midst of a career scoring night, you could hear the thinly masked frustration in the announcers voices when he got the ball on a late fast break, only to toss it right back to the Knicks in transition.

He still doesn't have that court vision that's essential at the PG position. I wish him well, but I won't be second guessing that trade at all.

For those wondering if Josh Smith said "Give it to me, don't look for anyone else" in last night's game, it was actually Jordan Crawford. You can see it here at about the 1:42 mark

This Piston team is starting to turn the corner, and it shows how strong they are in terms of overcoming their own youth, by the fact that they are 7-6 on the road, and 6-8 at home.

Bad teams just don't win on the road, period.

Its weird though that they have a losing record at home. To comfortable? If they like just about every other team in the league that's good, had a winning home record, would be sitting a hell of a lot prettier in the standings.

Playing a lot of superior playoff teams at home early this season probably explains the poor home record...Oklahoma City, Indiana, Miami, Atlanta, Portland.

Apparently me going to games too has been an indication of a home loss. I went to like 4 or 5 games this season so far and we have lost them all. I'm going to two more next week so hopefully I'm not a curse.

Unfortunetly I didn't get to watch the game yesterday, but from reading the thread and the anxiety and rollercoaster that only our pistons can put us through slightly glad I didn't. I did however try to watch as many game highlights and player highlights as possible and made this observation

1.) Jennings is almost exactly the PG we've all been b* and crying about since chancey, reason I say almost is because his defense is concerning , though he plays passing lanes pretty well. We've been needing a go to scorer for quite some time, I always seen Jennings as that guy, its more a matter of if he can sustain it. The thing I think Jennings brings the most is that attitude that we've been lacking, that us against the world type attitude and hating to lose type "SWAG". Its nice for at least 1 game to feel like we have a leader on this team. and its been fun to watch Jennings start to develop into that player. To do what he did against avery Bradley is pretty darn impressive, can't wait to hear Bill Simmons take on this.

2.) Josh smith seems to have adjusted. Now i'm only going off stats and highlights, but it seems josh has finally found a way to be effective, and hopefully he can sustain it. From post on this board it seems as if he's still chucking up 3's, however he's also figured out a way to show up on the stat sheets. If someone could give their observation of how josh has changed in the past 3 games, I would appreciate it

3.) Cheeks could be the perfect coach for this team. Cheeks came in with a reputation of getting the best out of his players, Stuckey has been playing well, singler has been playing well, Dre is further developed, Jennings and Smith have made noticeable improvements throughout the year. For the first time in a long time, I feel like our team is actually improving individually and as a team, Cheeks deserves quite a bit of credit. Our defense is still a concern , but it seems that the players are tuned into him, believe in his system, and has shown so far that he can adjust, if he trades Bynum, I might hug him.

4.) KCP seems to have settled down, and finding his stroke. i have noticed his shot looks a little tweaked, and i'm assuming our coaches have tried to help him out, still very impressed with his poise.

5.) my observations could be purely knee jerk, but still our team is quite impressive
