if the cavs don't find a buyer by the jan 7th deadline i believe they cut him, $6M is an expensive bet that another team will take him on this summer prior to the 2nd trigger date + they would likely have to deal with a grievance from the player's union if they deactivate a healthy bynum for the rest of the year...
trade partners either need to be teams near the tax line who don't believe they're competing this season (celtics, bulls, lakers, raptors, wizards) OR teams with space who are interested in adding the instant cap relief asset for this summer if the cavs are willing to kick in additional cash to cover the remaining $6M (hawks, magic, bucks, sixers, suns, jazz)
