We're most definitely scoring enough points. We're giving up more, which is the bigger problem. Our advanced stats behind the line are bad. However, we are dominating the paint. If we even had an average defensive team we would be projected 5 games over .500 right now. Defensively it's not working at all which is why we're at where we're at.

totally agree with CGC, if we are letting teams score 100+ on us nightly, fixing spacing issues isn't going to translate into wins.

You can't look at this in a vacuum. Our defense is bad because our offense is bad. We have no spacing so we miss a lot of shots- opposing teams get those rebounds and score before our defense gets set. Spacing is absolutely a major problem on this team.

Good point pop, however if we get more defensive stops, we'll get more transitional opportunities to score. I think all our problems are a product of each other. I think a argument can be made for both sides, though when I watch I don't feel like a lot of teams get easy transition points on us. I feel most our points given up are lack of defensive discipline by both Jennings and moose

We're average against the fast break. It's our rotations which are really awful. Smith is trying to play free safety and it's not working.

Basically, this team is flawed.


Offensively;
We have 3 PF/C's starting next to each other. All three guys are most effective in the paint. Its as simple as that.


Defensively;
We're lazy on defense. Jennings takes plays off on this side of the ball from time to time, and Smith is much better at PF as the weakside rim protector....but as our SF, hes often out on the perimeter. And he's not quick enough to check quicker SFs either, for that matter. And Monroe's D has never been one of his strong suits.
