I don't know. Wall and crunch time just don't seem to get along very often. Just being open minded. What could we get for Wall. There are lots of PGs in the league now that are good that aren't signed to max contracts.

Hands, good to see you coming around on Wall given that you wrote the above less than two weeks ago....after the Knick game. :)

Lyrical, it takes balls to admit that you fell asleep on a close Zards game. You got my props. I put your confession right up there with Gortat saying he had bad game.

Hey, I fell asleep before it got close! :D

I don't think the bidding will go that high on Ariza. My guess is that he'll field multiple 4-year, MLE offers. He may even get a team or two with cap space to offer a "premium" MLE contract (a bit over the MLE to separate from teams that can offer ONLY the MLE). I think he ultimately ends up re-signing with Washington for 4 years and $28 million.

Things looked pretty bleak late in the 3rd, on the road, down double digits, and with a string of HORRIBLE calls going against us. It was one of the most lopsidedly officiated games I have ever watched. If I was coaching, I definitely would have been thrown out for screaming at the refs. But the Wizards kept their cool and methodically clawed their way back into the game. I was very, very impressed. This is what good teams do. Last nights game has me starting to believe.

they are methodically getting a number of recent monkeys off their back
with the road wins against Nix, Nets and Cs. And now DET. The schedule is going
to get harder though. Last year we couldn't beat the crap teams but were
competitive against the good teams. We're now doing much better against
the bad teams. Good teams will not be overlooking us. DAL/GSW will be
interesting tests. We also need to beat TOR. We could be the 5th seed and
still have home court in the first round with the Atl div winner being guaranteed
a top 4 seed but NOT home court advantage which always goes to the team with
the better record. But the Hawks may have a hard time staying in front of us.
We could end up 3rd/4th.

I suspect John wants payback against Klay Thompson (sunday night). Both DAL and GSW are
good teams but hardly invincible. TOR is just one of those in conf home games
we have to win.

It's a shame we weren't able to pry Cousins from Sac before he proved he was worth the max. We'd be a nightmare with him at C.

Really surprised he signed an extension with all the drama going on in Sacramento. O'Neal's center whispering may have made the difference.

I never felt he wouldn't sign at SAC. Wasn't there more money to be made by doing what he did ? Can't remember exactly how his contract was but I thought I remembered something like he would have had to expect lots of millions less for one year to become a UFA the following year. Maybe I am remember wrongly.

Yes Cousins is good, and yes Monroe would be a slight upgrade over Gortat but their is a certain chemistry and mojo with this team. Nene, Gortat, Webster, Ariza are a big part of it.

I think the removal of young, inexperienced knuckleheads, has changed the culture of the team and the direction of John Wall`s career. Intangibles are just as important to me as statistics.

Agreed in principle. But I think Cousins and Monroe could possibly work out here from a chemistry standpoint. Wall and Cousins have a terrific relationship and I could see Monroe thriving back in D.C.

But Cousins is definitely a bit of a destabilizing element and that did worry me some about a potential Cousins/Wall pairing. Even before he signed his long extension, I thought the timing of a Cousins acquisition would make more sense later on in a more stable period of our construction. And we've been burned pretty bad by immature bigs recently.

I won't be surprised at all if they play together one day. I think that is kind of baked in the cake. If they both get good like they look like they will, they will find a way to get together. And when they do, they will both be seasoned. As long as we have Wall, I think you can put that in your back pocket. But it might not be until they are like 27. That has been my time frame for those two getting together.

Cousins just wasn't a good fit here considering what the Wizards needed to do as a franchise and where he was as a person and player. Them growing up separately might actually work out better. They can become their own men and learn on their own, then come together and share the stage.

Hey 2017 or so.

Wall, Beal, KD and Cousins go on a title chase and dominate the league. Be sure to get season tickets a year before it happens.

I see no Dal Vs Wizards game thread. Probably don't need one tho other than they stink tonight. Just like the Redskins.
