Things looked pretty bleak late in the 3rd, on the road, down double digits, and with a string of HORRIBLE calls going against us. It was one of the most lopsidedly officiated games I have ever watched. If I was coaching, I definitely would have been thrown out for screaming at the refs. But the Wizards kept their cool and methodically clawed their way back into the game. I was very, very impressed. This is what good teams do. Last nights game has me starting to believe.
they are methodically getting a number of recent monkeys off their back
with the road wins against Nix, Nets and Cs. And now DET. The schedule is going
to get harder though. Last year we couldn't beat the crap teams but were
competitive against the good teams. We're now doing much better against
the bad teams. Good teams will not be overlooking us. DAL/GSW will be
interesting tests. We also need to beat TOR. We could be the 5th seed and
still have home court in the first round with the Atl div winner being guaranteed
a top 4 seed but NOT home court advantage which always goes to the team with
the better record. But the Hawks may have a hard time staying in front of us.
We could end up 3rd/4th.
I suspect John wants payback against Klay Thompson (sunday night). Both DAL and GSW are
good teams but hardly invincible. TOR is just one of those in conf home games
we have to win.
