They'll have a worse record than last year, likely may finish second in their conference (not to mention behind a few WC opponents), and there's no win-streak (or weird 7 games with >70% FG or whatever). Lebron isn't matching last year's averages (and is near career lows in several others) in everything but 3P% and FG%. Meanwhile, he visibly seems to be coasting while the Heat are getting blown out by losing NBA teams. There's just no way I can see voters overlooking Durant's monster season so far and the Westbrook "narrative" while Lebron is putting out whatever it is he's putting out.
^ I'm going to have to agree with this sadly. This is spot on
and thats the thing of it, lebron will still be the best player in the nba but he just wont be this years mvp. Its crazy how people just ignore the history of this award.
The nba mvp is just like the coach of the year award, voters get tired of giving it to the the best player or coach "every" year.
Also look for pg to get it if okc's record falls off. Record is huge with the mvp.
