Really, dude?? All that over the word "potentially".
It's a lot more than that. You'd have to be out of your **** mind to even think about getting rid of this kid. All he had to say was "He's a keeper and someone we're going to build around". Why not make a definitive statement? He's leaving the door open for another Tobias blunder.
Hammond has been gushing over Yanni in every interview he's done so far. There's a ton of **** to rip Hammond on but nitpicking one sentence because he didn't use the exact verbiage you wanted and equating it with Yanni being traded like Tobes is pure paranoia. Hammond is not gonna get rid of the only great thing he's done in 7 years.
Look, I know they're not going to trade Giannis. At least, I'd like to think there is no way in hell they even remotely consider it - they'd have to be downright crazy. BUT, my reaction isn't about trading Giannis. Seriously. It's about the absolute lack of vision, accountability, creativity, innovation, and responsible leadership. It's about the simple fact I wholeheartedly disagree with how they've built this team for over a decade. And, the comments made solidifying they legitimately thought the veteran talent they signed would lead to another 8th seed quest...and, its consequent failure is just outright embarrassing. Instead of taking any ownership for the rebuilding process, Hammond completely defers and states it's by accident. That is what pisses me off. Lead. Inspire. Demonstrate. Don't offer up pathetic excuses for a completely failed plan - emblematic of a failed ideology, again, going on over a decade. And, this utter nonsense is the
exact mentality that believes Brandon Knight is an admirable PG project. While we have
potentially the most innovative PG project in the history of basketball, we're going to give the keys to Crash?!? No Thank You. Resoundingly.
Free Giannis.
