The only rumors are from Phila who wants to move these players. Whenever I see one-sided "reporting" like this and nothing from our local insiders, I become very skeptical as to whether there is two-way interest in making a deal. I have also looked at the mainstream Phila press (Daily News and Inquirer) and their beat writers and neither talks about Young and/or Turner deal to the Suns or any interest by the Suns in acquiring them.
The poster Charara13 says to Google it and then cites obscure blogs by obscure bloggers, which he has pulled. I do not believe everything I read on the internet that is posted by internet bloggers and do not find any of his cites credible. They appear to me to be nothing more than some internet bloggers who have no information, but reports from unnamed "sources".
In fact if you look at a report in today's Phila Daily News by Bob Cooney, he states that "there isn't a GM in the league that would not want Young, but his salary of $9.1 and $9.7 is getting in the way of any movement of him. I would tend him over some obscure internet bloggers who put out pure conjecture a couple of weeks ago and would also tend to believe that his salary would get in the way of the Suns acquiring him.
I do agree not to put much credence in any rumors, but Zach Lowe (who I understand you don't respect) also said (in addition to that extremely questionable Philly source) that during the Asik discussions that the Suns were trying to work a deal (where they would not get Asik) to get Young. I don't think he would just throw this out there. He rarely throws out trade rumors. Again, I know you think that is BS, but that was another person who mentioned the Young interest other than the Philly source. So if people decide to think Lowe is credible and just wouldn't make it up, I think it makes sense. Young does make some sense on this team (being younger with a youth movement), though lately Frye has been on fire, so maybe it doesn't as much as sense as McD thought it did (if he indeed did).
But I do agree that there is no need to talk to other posters as if they don't know what they are talking about...if anything this should be attributed directly to Lowe. I don't think such a deal makes total sense for all the teams unless perhaps 4 teams were involved though, because I doubt Philly wants Asik, and I assume, if there was a deal talked about, it involved Philly getting a pick or two from us, Houston getting Frye and us getting Young. I do like Young, but the way Frye is playing, and is veteran leadership he could provide at likely a reasonable salary, probably doesn't make much sense.
Obviously there are other scenarios that could have been discussed, like the Morris twins going to either Houston or Philly, but I'm guessing Houston would want Frye if they moved Asik to possibly back up Howard and hit threes if he played alongside him.
