I am the first to call him out if his game was really off.
All things considered, Paul had a solid game in support of great games by DW & MT.
He absolutely categorically needs to shoot/score more when Joe/Deron are off - & Joe was indeed way off yesterday. I have watched him a long long time. He occasionally plays too unselfishly. He is STILL more than capable of providing 20-30 points (more often than once every 5 games) IF the game requires it.
Let's agree to disagree & focus on beating the Celtics (who need as many losses as possible to maximize their tank & get Jabari Parker or Embiid), Raps & then upsetting OKC again & the Pacers. If the Nets somehow get this done & go 13-1, they will become the hottest topic in the NBA.
But he didnt play a solid game; he was -9 in a game we won by 1 point, and in the final minutes he missed 2 free throws and allowed dirk an easy rebound and putback. He was non existEnt in the first half, and had a couple big turnovers during a stretch where the Mavs cut into our lead.
Having 7 points in a quarter doesnt overshadow that. He played poorLY. It happens. You can acknowledge it without losing pierce superfan status
LOL.
Still disagree. You are obsessively hypercritical. You remind me of me with regard to my obsessive dedication to excellence in the teaching & practice of medicine.
Focus on the last sentence in my last post.
Right now, I am already getting antsy & jittery because of tomorrow's "return." Wish I could be there. Fans are going to blow the roof off the Garden when Paul is introduced.
you last sentence had nothing to do with the mavericks game. this being a "mavericks @ nets thread" there is no need to address that. ill worry about tomorrows game tomorrow.
there is nothing hypercritical about what i said. its all just the facts.
* he was a -9 in a game we won by 1 point
* he missed BOTH free throws where 1 make ices the game
* He missed a huge key rebound allowing dirk to put it back in keeping the mavs alive
He scores 7 in the 3rd quarter. great, its not like score 17 or took over the game. he didnt play well, and if we lost, he'd have been one of the biggest reasons why.
