You need to know, not hope but know they are in it for a good 10 years or so barring a horrible injury. For a guy like Reigns or Langston to go over they would have to get deals similar to what Orton and Cena got which were 10 year deals. They won't just hope he stays ever again like Brock because he burned them
There's absolutely no way to know anything. There could be a Bret Hart breakup three years after. It's the same thing with Daniel Bryan, if you've got a young guy you feel is ready and Taker is on side, you're gonna have to take a leap of faith.
Even a 10 year deal doesn't guarantee jack squat. There's several guys that are good enough. Now look, I agree that you better be absolutely sure the guy can carry that mantle from beating Taker. It's more prestigious than the title as mentioned. You can eff up a title run with a Miz and it's forgotten, there's only one win over Taker at WM and you better be sure he's a guy worth it, anything that happens contractually or him sticking around there's nothing you can control with that.
But you're original premise of Cena or Kane is just outright stupid if I'm being honest. It does nothing for Cena and Kane and is a complete waste of that moment.
Never said Cena or Kane should win, I said they are the only logical ones I think they would put over.
If Cena went over its because its takers way of saying you're the guy, the new conscious of the company, the 20 year guy who will stay loyal. It would be solely about respect. Cena could lose, he could win, but if he challenged everyone and their mama would watch and pay attention to every hold. They will set an attendance record as well most likely. He seems like a logical 50/50 bet, sort of like when he walked into One Night Stand, they could fake you out and suspend your disbelief of the streak being broken.
If a Kane went over, not likely, but a slim chance as Takers admitted he wanted Kane to break it before I can see both characters written off. There's no better way to send the brothers of destruction off into the sun set than the page try of the Kane character finally being at peace and beating his brother on the grand stage followed by lighting, fire, hail, brimstone, smoke and mirrors with them both hugging, posing, and walking off to never work a match again. Takers wanted Kane to beat him before, I can see them hoping any request taker makes, he's earned that far more than anyone in the back to have his wish honored.
Now the young guy to go over, like you said has to be the right guy, as they get no do over. I think he has to be a locked in guy too at least since they weren't pleased with Brock leaving and that's why they gave Cena and Orton 10 year deals and also offered Batista one as he said and confirmed years ago when Randy and Cena got theirs. I think they would have Reigns, Langston, or Wyatt look at 5-10 year deals just off a business principle as they tried to lock in the top new crop before them after Brock said **** it I'm done
