The Spurs have released Othyus Jeffers and signed veteran free agent Shannon Brown to a 10-day contract, the team announced Saturday.
Brown, 28, will be available for tonight’s home game against Sacramento. He last played for Phoenix in 2012-13, averaging 10.5 points in 23.8 minutes. Brown had previously played for Cleveland, Chicago, Charlotte and the Lakers with a career scoring average of 8.1 points.
Jeffers was picked up on a 10-day deal out of the Developmental League after the recent wave of injuries that sidelined Kawhi Leonard, Manu Ginobili and Danny Green. He scored seven points in four appearances.
I like the pickup. Jeffers was alright, good hustle guy but Brown will help us on both ends.
