ESPN.com's Marc Stein includes this Celtics-related nugget in his latest update on trade chatter:
One source close to the situation told ESPN.com this week that Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck -- who has long preferred to keep Rondo in Boston even though he'll be an unrestricted free agent in less than 18 months -- is insisting that Ainge set a high trade price for the All-Star point guard.
Felger and Co. were crying about the owner interfering with a personnel guy doing his job which is stupid. If Bill was going to trade Brady I am sure craft would get involved.
I am actually glad that somebody has a leash on Ainge here a little bit. He isn't a traditional GM who has day to day concerns to worry about he strictly does player personnel. There is a business side to this that feeds the player side and you have to have a player to market and to sell tickets. McLemore wasn't that player maybe Parsons is but I think Doc did a lot of slowing Trader Danny down in the past and I am pretty sure Wyc stepped in with Pierce a couple of times. It is good to know that this isn't just Danny and his inner circle making calls without a big picture view on things.
