Makes sense for Houston to pursue Boston's Rondo (and @ESPNSteinLine says Rox have interest) but I'm told the two teams have not spoken.

Could it be that all the rumors are being generated from one source? Clutchfan?

That would actually be pretty impressive.

Sam Amico was pointing to the guy on Clutchfan, Incarcerated Bob and SportsLegion were referencing Sam Amico, Mark Stein was pointing to the FoxSports report by Sam Amico.

See where this is going.......

I'll wait for Woj.

All comes down to us wanting Parsons and a lottery pick as the centerpieces of the deal, IMO.

Question is: How do they get a lottery pick without Parsons?

My verdict: LOL.

I don't see the deal going down but maybe Ainge doesn't want to pay Rondo max - so its a way to get something for him rather then letting him walk.. Its not like Rondo is the Celtics property for life. You have to think about the future..

Also, IF Rondo is already using the "i wont resign" stuff in trade talks... it would only get worse next season when he's expiring

I'd say no because we almost got Bledsoe AND Jordan for Garnett and Pierce. It'd be on repeat in my head every time I saw Bledsoe if we traded Rondo for him haha.

I don't really like that knee injury he had recently either..wasn't a part of his meniscus removed ala Brandon Roy? Eek

Yeah, that surgery Bledsoe got scares the **** outta me now. I was high on him when the KG, PP rumours were up in the air, but not after his latest knee surgery.

Didn't see this up yet
ESPN.com's Marc Stein includes this Celtics-related nugget in his latest update on trade chatter:
One source close to the situation told ESPN.com this week that Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck -- who has long preferred to keep Rondo in Boston even though he'll be an unrestricted free agent in less than 18 months -- is insisting that Ainge set a high trade price for the All-Star point guard.

Felger and Co. were crying about the owner interfering with a personnel guy doing his job which is stupid. If Bill was going to trade Brady I am sure craft would get involved.

I am actually glad that somebody has a leash on Ainge here a little bit. He isn't a traditional GM who has day to day concerns to worry about he strictly does player personnel. There is a business side to this that feeds the player side and you have to have a player to market and to sell tickets. McLemore wasn't that player maybe Parsons is but I think Doc did a lot of slowing Trader Danny down in the past and I am pretty sure Wyc stepped in with Pierce a couple of times. It is good to know that this isn't just Danny and his inner circle making calls without a big picture view on things.

Felger is a blowhard. The same type of guy that will rip the team because they don't trade Rondo but will be the 1st in line to rip the Celtics again 3 years from now when Rondo is killing it and winning a title with some other team. The guy just loves to complain and bitch. He's always had a hair across his ass for the Celtics and especially Rondo anyway. He always ripped KG too. He's a clown.

No one on 93.7 or 98.5 actually understands the NBA and what it takes to build a decent NBA team. Felger (or some other guy) literally thought it was a good idea to trade Rondo (take 50 cents on the dollar) to guarantee a top 3 pick. I don't know about you guys, but I'm pretty sure Danny Ainge would rather have Rondo + top 8-10 pick than just a top 3 pick..even in this draft. I know I would. Adam Jones knows the most, and I still scratch my head at some of the stuff he says.

+100. Felger makes sf2003 seem moderate. He hopes they lose 82 games.

I don't really want to trade Rondo...but with all the Houston talk...Rondo and Wallace for Asik, Lin, Parsons works.
Not really sure I would consider it without a pick....but a way to perhaps move Wallace. Houston probably balks as well.

I would certainly take a top 3 pick + the 50% return on Rondo over Rondo + pick 8-10. I don't even think its close when you factor in Rondo's age and upcoming free agency as well as the current state of the team. If Rondo signed an extension in the $12m/year range then it would be a closer decision.

The Toucher and Rich is actually pretty good. They are sketchy on sports stuff in general but Rich Shertenlieb is actually a pretty big C's fan and they have Scal on the show and I think Ainge does their show as well.
