He's right. But the rule exists and players and fans should be aware of it, even if it is excessively unfair, punishing teams far more harshly than what the transgression robbed their opposition of as the difference between a sure-fire goal and a PK is not a man advantage.

Robben wasn't getting to that after his first touch anyways. I wouldn't really call it a clear goalscoring opportunity. Less of one than when Boateng took down Özil anyway.

The real crime was the Nacho man letting that hideous man-baby crab his way straight down the center of our defence without tracking his run.

Tough game. Dominant to start, but game turned when Gibbs went off. Should have just put Flamini at LB and left out the Nacho man. Can't do much against that Bayern side with 10 men.

good , toss away the away goal rule while you're at it. Iunno how a sin bin would work but a penalty+yellow is enough punishment.

Sinbinning is a bad idea, imo. It should be a pen, but no red, imo. If you think he denied a clear goal scoring opportunity, you're giving it back with the pen anyway. Players being sent off just ruins the game, and it's a ridiculous overpunishment, imo.

Ozil is so lazy getting out run by flamini and wilshere, like what kind of a joke is that? Toni Kroos would never let this happen...

Well Robben was pretty clearly going to just poke that ball into the net if szcez hadn't banged into him. And with him being the last man back that's a different scenario than what Boateng did with the keeper still behind him.

For what it's worth you did better than I was expecting.

He touched it wide with his first touch, and he was stretched out, I doubt he get's to it before Sagna. There is no real 'last man' rule, Özil's is more of an 'obvious goal scoring opportunity' than Robbens, to me. He still has complete control until he's fouled, and is clean past Boateng.

I dunno, looked like a pretty clear goal to me. If the keeper doesn't bang into him his momentum keeps him moving forward and he's on that ball on the bounce.

Ozil is 25. Coutinho is 21. And he's been fantastic after his slow start. Much better defensively too. Look how he eviscerated Jack Wilshere two weeks ago.

Maybe, the way he's stretched though he's not keeping pace, and he's not in control of the ball. Which is one of the main things they're supposed to consider when judging whether it's an obvious goal scoring opportunity. It's a pen for me, like Boatengs, but no red. But, whatevs, watching that clip just makes me mad at Monreal.

Mandzukic sets a nice pick on Koscielny from an offside position, though ;)

Nope. Lol. And that was the worst I've seen Cazorla play lol. He looked out of it.

TBF to Arsenal I still think they'll make a game of it at Allianz. Already proved they can win there.

Yeah, Santi has been really up and down this year. Unfortunate, cause we could really use his goals right now.

come on man ozil wrecked england (the likes of lampard and gerrard in their peak) and argentina at 21 and played very well vs the likes of barca in multiple clasicos , coutinho is going on a cruise this summer.

I''m not saying Coutinho is better than Ozil. LMAOOOOO! And Scolari would be smart to bring Coutinho btw.

on second look it looked like he sweat on him because it doesn't make sense why the arsenal player wouldn't lay into him if it was spit.

ahaha my bad , just a bit touchy after today. Went into today with no hope and just wanted a good performance from arsenal but then got a **** load of belief and it was crushed in seconds LOL. Bear with me!!

yeah scolari would be smart to take him but he has his favourites.

just watched highlights again and it amazes me how boateng escaped a red card.

1. He trips up ozil in the box , and ozil is through on goal with sanogo in support and a couple bayern defenders but not any closer than sagna to robben. Clear goal scoring opportunity. Penalty and yellow( ref changes standards later when he should have made this call in the woj vs robben situation) no consistency.

2. Boateng running through gibbs , injuring him in the process. Cynical foul to stop a promising counter attack. Clear yellow card , ref refuses to send him off.

zero consistency and a terrible rule decides a tie.
