We just need to hope Landry returns to his Houston-days where he was an excellent reserve. But yeah, other than that, we are lacking in depth.

I just don't understand what made our front office pay the money to pick him up. We literally could have picked up a D-League player and received the same production from them, injury or not. What exactly does Landry bring to this team when he's healthy?

This sure reminds me of another Houston player we picked up and then got stuck with his horrible contract. We need to stay away from Houston players and anyone that played at Kansas

Yeah, I wasn't too happy when the Kings sign Landry in the off season.

Honestly, to me, the signing of Landry reeks "doing a solid" for a former Warrior/good guy. Vivek/Malone had a lot to do with that due to their previous GSW connection imo.

Do you remember the time we were seriously considering Monta Ellis?

I much rather have moped instead of Landry tbh. At least, he fills a need (SG) lol

Ellis and IT in the backcourt would have been horrible, though. Not that we can get much worse now but for the future, at least. Probably would have meant the end of IT due to the money we had invested in Ellis/Gay. Then again, with Ellis, I wonder if we even trade for Gay.

I always felt that Ellis is at his best where he plays off from someone. This year, he is playing with Dirk and co and his percentages/advance stats are up. IT/Ellis backcourt >> IT/McLemore or IT/Thornton right now. Signing Ellis would have provided insurance if we lose IT to FA.

I think we would have traded for Gay because at the time, SF position was the glaring issue for us and there was a lot of pressure and angst for a legit SF. And Gay was at his lowest trade worth. That said, ff we haven't traded for Rudy, we would have gotten another SF imo.

But with the money invested going forward in Ellis/Gay/Cousins, I can't imagine there would have been anyway we could have kept IT.

Landry: 4/26
Ellis: 3/25 (last year: player option)

Right, but wasn't it rumored that we were thinking of offering Ellis $9-11M a year?

Just got done watching this game. I can't believe how horrible, disgusting, and pathetic our defense was. McLemore literally got burnt over and over and over. I just have no words for this team anymore... Every game some one on the opposing team has a career night... I dunno..

I don't remember but that could be the case why the Kings didn't pull on the trigger though. It would have looked bad if we offered Ellis that much, especially when they let Tyreke go when they balked at his asking price.

Meh, it's all moot point.

We are stuck with Landry.

I got love for seeing DWill do well because of the chance Gay might not be here in the next 1-2 years, if that is where he would play

KF10 wrote:The thing about Ben is that he left college a year or two early. This guy is ridiculously raw on both ends of the floor. Other than, high work rate and plays like a team player, he contributes NOTHING else.

I still have faith in Ben but this is by far the worst I've seen so far from him. Zero points & abused on the defensive end is a low for him.

I hope he uses this off season to work on EVERYTHING. He really needs it.

He seems like a hard worker so let's hope he significantly improves in the offseason. The problem with guys like him are they are so raw that they develop and breakout their contract year and you are stuck debating whether to overpay and keep him or lose him for pennies on the dollar. :(
