Whether they will be more involved or not remains to be seen. It all comes down to what the coaching staff finds acceptable in order to get minutes. Norris Cole was able to get minutes as a rookie because he fit a need and performed his job without getting in the way of winning. Maybe Hamilton is ready to make such contributions next season. We'll see I guess.
I hate that logic. It's not even about the money, it's about getting better. Why not try to get better, explore all the options. You've got a true stretch Center on the bench, we're half-assing most of these games, Battier and Birdman are old. Would it kill Spo to give Hamilton 10 minutes? I hate that passive, wait until you're desperate, uncreative, timid planning.
When has a Pat Riley ran team been passive, desperate, uncreative and timid in planning? SInce 1995 (19 years) the team has missed the playoffs only 3 seasons. Are we really that spoiled? The organization is not perfect but you can't complain about the overall results Riley has given us. We could be the Miami Dolphins who have done the complete opposite since 1995.
Let Riley do things his way since he delivers results. I am sure if Riley has issues with how Spoelstra is running the team, Spo would be the first to know. The team focus is winning the championship, not finding minutes for the end of the bench players.
The sooner you understand that, the more you will enjoy the team you have in front of you. This is not going to last forever you know. Like Dolphins fans, one day we will long for the days we are living now as a Heat fan. Book it.
