Role player? Paul Pierce now Nets big shot
As the Nets (33-30) ascend in the standings without an injured Kevin Garnett, it is Pierce who has emerged as not only an emotional leader, but also as the star on the court in the biggest games and in the biggest moments.
Like Boston had to get it worked out when they added KG, PP, and RA, BRK got a slow start. Plus they have been injured a lot. But you have to have the team organized around PP as the leader. Its just who he is.
The Truth will go into the HOF for sure. One of the best SF of his era. Kind of gets under appreciated.
I had BRK ranked 2nd best in the conference to start the year and a title contender. If they had Lopez, they would be a real handful. Actually, I might look to trade Lopez for Al Jefferson. That might even be better.
This team is real close, but they are running against father time. Someone like T Handsborough or Gooden for Dray and Lopez or Al Jefferson at center and wow. But even as is, I wouldn't want to face them in the playoffs. Not sure if they can get it done this year but they should make things interesting for a few rounds.
