Watching Randle in the tournament has shown me some very nice court vision, passing ability and a better handle than I realized he had. He will need to develop his jumper in the NBA, which I think he can do, and learn to play as a face up guy against taller, longer opponents, while retaining the ability to post guys of equal or lesser size. Has a nose for rebounding as we all knew and is a very good athlete for his size. I think he will be a very good NBA player, kind of like a taller, bigger Thad with better board skills and a more natural scorer. Not a shot blocker, but looks capable of eventually defending his position adequately or better.
The tournament has also confirmed that he is a second tier guy in this draft. I would group him with Smart, Vonleh and Gordon, each offering something different. Vonleh would be my choice if the Sixers end up picking from that group, but Randle, while far from a dominant player, will make some team in the 5-8 range very happy.
