I'm sure they wanted the Knicks next 17 first round draft picks. Dolan wouldn't go over 15.
Clyde Drexler, called Oakley a dirty player. Told of Drexler’s comment, Oak said, “He can blow me.”

Stephen A wanting to hire Mark Jackson is only based on one thing: race

All this talk from him about racism and he is pushing to hire an incompetent coach because he's a certain skin color. That's extremely sad and pathetic on his part. I didn't expect better but I guess nobody pays attention to when he says outlandish stuff like this.

The Rondo thing was even more ridiculous than the Mark Jackson fluff piece he wrote.

Yep.

Straight from Ainge...not "sources"...on the Knicks having turned down a deal for Rondo...

But what we’ve been hearing for a while and in more concerted tones here is that Rajon Rondo may be more available now than ever before. Danny Ainge yesterday dismissed a report that the Knicks had turned down a deal for the All-Star point guard as “maybe the most ludicrous thing I’ve ever heard.”

the Aldridge rumor may have been legit, but it would have been Carmelo Anthony going back in that trade offer.

Exactly. At which point, it puts the Knicks, at best, back in the same position they are in right now.

Isn't this the same guy who had Kobe out of LA so many years ago?

When I was younger, I had a Jose Canseco baseball card at a time when he was the most popular player in baseball. However, a young lad, I didn't yet know that the "J" could make an "H" sound and assumed it was Jose Canseco's brother. I traded the card to a friend and then had him rub it in my face that was, in fact, Jose Canseco.

This may seem like an aside but it's every bit as relevant to the Knicks as the BS trades.

While I think Stephen A pulled that out of his ass, I do think we could trade for Rondo.

Our massive collection of expiring contracts could help Boston shed A TON of money (and specifically allow them to be even bigger players in 2015 free agency or use that cap space to acquire more assets) in the form of Jeff Green and/or Gerald Wallace. If Boston thinks they might lose Rondo, then they should try to use him improve their team. That means get the most of out of him. And yeah some picks or young players would be nice, but honestly giving them the $20 mil in cap space in 2015 (and another like $10 mil in 2016 savings) could be just as valuable. That capspace could turn into a MAX player/ all star, good players whose teams need to trade them for capspace, or into picks via trades. Not to mention we could send them Shumpert, the 2018 first and maybe a first (by means of a third team taking on Tyson). So $20 mil more in cap space (not counting the saving they get by not having Rondo), 2 firsts, and Shumpert is actually pretty good net for someone who is a FA at the end of the year.

And actually, as much as I wanted that trade all season... now I wouldn't even do it because I'd rather take the year of patience and keep the assets that are the extra cap space (even we did sign Rondo as FA the next summer, we'd still have the extra space by not having Green/Wallace), the picks (or the pick and Tyson), and Shumpert.

Nothing easier than a negative knicks headline. No point in caring about these rumors spewed by SAS.
