Al/Biz/McGary
McBob/Zeller/Tolliver
MKG/McDermott/CDR
Stephenson/Afflalo/Taylor
Kemba/Napier/Neal
-Trade 9 and Hendo for 12 and Afflalo
-Draft McDermott at 12 and Napier at 24 and McGary at 45
-Sign Stephenson
-Bring back CDR and Tolliver for depth
-Trade Haywood for whatever
Still well under the salary cap as well
Let ne try to objectively break it down:
PG's:
I love Kemba's heart, but he still has suspect shot selection at times. I trade him to get a great young sf who can fill it up and play "d", Tobias Harris. I sign Lowry who was ROBBED from an All Star spot and has a big time liller instinct. We both have Napier as a young backup, but I have Fatty and you have Neal as our 3rd string. I'm gonna go with my pg's, slightly.
SG's:
I'm not the biggest Stephenson fan, I think he's too showboaty, and plays hero ball too much, but he does have swagger. I don't see think Afflalo would be happy being a backup. So my sg rotation would be THJ, Viking and Hairston, yours is Lance and Afflalo.....mine is younger and has more potential, yours is proven; tough call, probably the edge to your sg's.
SF's:
I'm possibly the biggest Tobias Harris fan on the planet, I think he has multiple All Star potential, so I am biased. I love MKG, but he's so limited offensively and once again, you gotta give up a lot to get a lot, in my case, Noah. Dougie McBuckets is a proven scorer, but he is a sieve on defense and can literally do nothing other than score and that was in college. I like my sf's better.
Bigs:
I got Big Al and Noah starting with McBob and Kaman backing them up. You've still got McBob as a start with an unproven MM as a backup. My bigs are superior to yours.
Summary:
You put together a good team and I am intrigued with a Lance/Afflalo sg combo, although I think AA would become disgruntled coming off the bench. But your team hasn't really solved the 3 point woes with the exception of AA and it is still very offensively challenged. My team has more than adequately addressed scoring and 3 point shooting with Harris, Lowry, THJ and Hairston and added one of the best defensive bigs in the NBA in Noah that is the best possible compliment to Big AL imaginable. In the end, I'm gonna have to give a slight edge to my Fake Bobcats vs your Fake Bobcats, but you did a good job.
Your frontcourt is incredible, but a 2-guard rotation of Hardaway, Taylor, and Hairston doesn't have any real talent. They're decent fits, but none of them are ever going to be anything more than okay starters/5th options on good teams. Meanwhile Lance and Afflalo would be an incredible duo at the 2, as both were in the running for the ASG (thought they were robbed by Derozan and Johnson), and either one could play minutes at the 3 or even run PG in the case of Lance.
I'd set the rotations as follows:
Al (32)/Biz (16)/McGary
McBob (24)/Zeller (16)/MKG (8)/Tolliver
MKG (24)/Afflalo (12)/McDermott (12)/CDR
Stephenson (32)/Afflalo (16)/Taylor
Kemba (32)/Napier (16)/Neal
Al, MKG, Afflalo, Stephenson, and Kemba all play starter minutes. McBob plays 24 minutes. Biz, Zeller, McBuckets, Napier play backup minutes. Afflalo doesn't have a huge ego, and wouldn't object to coming off the bench if he played starter minutes if he knew it was good for the team.
Al/Biz
McBob/Zeller
MKG/Tolliver
Hendo/CDR
Kemba
won us 43 games this season. Everyone else was a non-factor. I have to think replacing Hendo with Stephenson, Afflalo, McDermott, and Napier has to boost this team at least 10 wins.
Your team simply doesn't have anyone to make life difficult for the big-name SFs and SGs in the East. We'd be guaranteed to run into Lebron, Melo, PG, [Wiggins?]... Harris, Hardaway, and Taylor would get brutally murdered by any of those guys.
